Well I know why they called it Espresso black. the front is black but the sides and battery cover are more of a dark coffee colour hence the Espresso name I guess.
The back lighting on the buttons is a cream colour and the phones shows up finger prints like an sob, especially the back.
I wonder anyone with the silver one wanna do a swap? Hehehe
Oh and the dark colour hides the fact this phones is almost fully metal pretty good.

what is a good colour to buy ???
i am so close on getting the silver one but the black looks good,..
can someone tell me the silver colour... is that fully silver metal and stuff.. or is it just paint ????
Hi
the silver is the actual metal that the phone is made from, im thinking its aluminium, as it is so light. so i would definitely go for the silver, as black is boring (so many samsungs come in this colour!) and the mocha brown isn't quite coffee chic enough. thats just my opinion.
So in summary, the silver looks very sleek and less bulky/common than black, and the mocha has got a tint of plum, and personally I think I would get bored of the colour in the end. |

Definatly not plum the mocha W890i. I've never seen a brown plum. Also the anodized finish is harder wearing than plain aluminium. |

im getting this phone branded from orange today - my 3rd se upgrade after k850 and w910 both of which were useless..hope this one serves me better otherwise its 6500 slide
one quick q- any advice, regarding what has been said over the last 3 pages, about charging the phone first time and for the first 5 times? Do i need to leave it charging for 4-8 whole hours or can i just charge it until fully charged at about 2.5 hrs?
thanks |

Yeah just charge as normal. OH AND BTW DO NOT AND I REPEAT DO NOT GET THE 6500 SLIDE I HAVE 1 USED IT FOR LIKE 3 DAYS ITS THE BIGGEST POS I HAVE EVER HAD THE MISFORTUNE TO BUY!!!!!
Its software is buggy the slide scratches the keypad and the batter cover is so loose and sloppy I had to but blutack in the corners to stop it from moving.
If you want a nice little slide look at the 6600 slide, its just been announced there is a short vid on you tube.
I am very tempted:
2.2 inch screen in a body that is so small:
90mmx46x14 very small phone and I love small phones |

Given the w890i has an internal memory of 28MB, how many SMS Text Messages are you able to have in your inbox before it tells you the phones full? (I've got a k750i at the moment which doesn't pipe up and nag me until I've got around 70 or so). I'm a hoarder, I don't like deleting messages
I'm assuming that you can't "move" messages onto the memory card? |

if im not mistaken you will be able to store the sms on the memory stick.

Nope.
But you can set the phone to save them on the memory stick (in advance). That's in the Settings part of the Messaging menu.

Thank you both for the replies - That's interesting to know and very helpful as answers my question.
I've a decision to make now, order the w890i or wait for the G502 |

Is there any newer firmware for W890i on SEUS? Which firmware is that? R1EA033? |

got this phone as a free upgrade last night from orange, having sent back both w910 and k850 as upgrades in alst couple of months.
However, I really like this handset and think I'm going to stick- was going to wait til w760 but this one is smaller, sleeker and similar in features if you are ignoring GPS capabilities.
It's not perfect by any means- I think the screen should be glass and the buttons aluminium like the beautiful body, the vibrate is not very powerful at all, and the loudspeaker is very tinny- however, changing these issues would probably confront the small and sleek design of the handset, which I think is a major plus point. Other nuances I have found- the camera is pretty useless, the signal is not very strong(this might be a bigger issue with mroe use ro does it improve with more use?), and the screen not very easy to see in direct sunlight a la this morning in London (^^), but i will primarily use this as a music device and phone and the 2GB M2 storage is very good for my music needs. Finally a worthy replacement of my old w850? I sure hope so.
**Despite having a £35p/m contract for which I pay £20 for and a free upgrade (win:D), orange branding is once again, terrible and all over the place- gone is sims2 and tennis, replaced by a demo of tetris?! I'm not normally bothered by branding but thinking about flashing this phone with davinci..any advice for someone who has never unbranded a new handset before and if the davinci flash is available and reliable for this handset?
**Also, 1 other question- I have a small icon in the upper left corner where the status icons are (status bar)...it is a small portrait picture with like an MSN type person in it with a crooked red arrow to the right of the icon (although they are together)..can anyone tell me what this is or what it means and how to get rid of it? EDIT: Something to do with diverting video calls. Turned it off now
Also have an icon up there which is 2 purple squares overlapping each other, something to do with Email i think, maybe specific to Orange email- any enlightenment?
Does anyone get a fuzzy sound when they are listening to music and they stop it, and also fuzzy clicks when they turn the volume up and down with the rocker? I had the same problem with my k850 before i sent it back..hopefully they will fix it in firmware.
Any advice or information on any of the points I wrote about above would be appreciated
