Hi Amby, good to see you, mate

Nope, the safes are used to house my coin and banknote collection, for insurance purposes. The only thing that goes bang is the Browning. The non-lethal half-bricks i keep on top of the safe

Just spent a very pleasant hour chatting to an English lad and his girlfriend. They were sitting at the table next to mine at the coffee shop, and we got to discussing ebay, etc. Apparently there's to be an issue of Irish pound notes soon, depicting George Best, very limited number being printed. I'd scoop a few up if i were you, Wanqa, they're bound to escalate in value. Speaking of which, when was the last time you guys saw the R5 depicting Madiba? They're growing scarcer by the day, folks, and people are paying ridiculous sums for those in good condition...

Damn, cuz, hope you eventually got the airport, that's one of the things about Jozi which i can't abide, the interminable waiting in those jams... and waiting... and waiting...

@ Kryptik,
Very coincidental that you guys were speaking about those £5 notes, as there was an article about them, with pics, in one of the free London newspapers called The Metro today.
It won't be long before they're on eBay...

@ medusa,
Hope you've made it to the airport OK.

So eventually i'm at home. Was a bad accident that caused the jam. About 5 cars, blocked all 4 lanes. Hope they ok. The world of beer was really nice, had a couple of Saritas and a really nice lunch, plus the tour.

Loadsa cellphone pics shown on this SA cellphone forum again; all taken with the Nokia 3230:

The high-speed Virgin tilting trains, before departure from London's Euston station:

Some Giger-inspired artwork on one of the custom cruisers:

@ Kryptik,
Next time you've got to navigate through obstacles in the road as a result of taxi strikes or whatever, you may wish to consider Polaris's latest product below...
Renowned for their jet-skis etc, check this mo-fo... er...'quad bike': (or more accurately, quad-track... )

Will post more cellphone pics tomorrow, when hopefully my energy levels are somewhat higher...

Nice pix indeed, boet, very nice. That artwork is something else! And i could really learn to love the bike too, lol, why go around an obstacle when you can go thru it

That train is something else which would be really handy over here, come 2010... Maybe we can convince Dicky to throw his weight behind the Cup.

Been busy the last couple of days so I couldn't post much...I need to get a car...the taxi strike left me and 1000s of other commuters stranded for the last two days.
@bradboy: Either a firmware update or a master reset should solve your problem...it might even be a java file messing your phone up.

I got my phone back! And a new headset with it...the cool thing is i only gave my connector in for repair, but got an entire unit back with ear pieces and all-now i got two:)

So i got my firmware upgrade, so far so good, but i just realised that i will have to start tweaking my predictive text from scratch again. Oh bugger.

The vodacare people were good and helpful, but i have a few scratches below my keys that are new. Will talk to peter about that.and the weasel is still there.

So yeah, will see what else is new and good.

@ bradboy, firmware update is the best bet.sometimes these things sort themselves out.

Okay, time for a nap. Amazing how driving 160km/h on the highway in a car not designed to go that fast can wear you out. I had to drive from pta to vodaworld, collect my phone and drive back in less than two hours.traffic is much better today though. Pretty dead for a Saturday where i was.

Hei, the "Rogues' Gallery" on the first page has been updated!
Come on the rest of you; the thread's 2nd birthday is around the corner and it would be great to have all the SA thread's mugshots on by then!

@da brixsta,
After you doing so much for this thread since you conceived it, I'm really glad to see that you've finally added yourself to the SA thread posters' list there too, mfowethu.

@ Francois, that's great news, swaer! I can imagine what satisfaction there was to rid yourself of that C113!

More cellphone pics (Nokia 3230):

"Holy batmobile-styling, Batman...just look at the 'zorsts on that!"
Suzuki's 1300cc B-King beast is put into production for 2007.

WTF? Now standard on Honda's colossal 1800cc Goldwing tourer, and a first for any bike...an airbag!

Not sure what this was doing at an international motorcycle show (I can only think of possible sponsorship reasons...), but it was still interesting to check out:

Done master reset, nothing! Must be the cracked version of opera mini! I wil delete it then! The K800 price must come down! Else W810 is next! I noticed that the K800 is R99 per month, while the W810 is R140! Why?

"Look into my eyes, wanqsta..." said the 2007 Yamaha R1 in a husky voice.

Hopefully I've scored enough brownie points with Santa to be blessed with one of these in late December...( wishful thinking!)

Nice underseat exhausts to warm Mrs A's pert rear on those cold Winter mornings:

Mrs Amawanqa checks out the darker-hued 2007 R1:

Da Wanqstah fiddles with a 2007 Buell (Harley engined) 1200 Ulysses on-off road styled bike, complete with standard camo colour scheme:

Yes, I used to be an Orlando Pirates fan when I still resided in SA.

C'mon boet, be a sport and get the missus the R1, you can see that it was made for her! I love the size of those exhausts on the B-King, can just picture it screaming down the highway at the speed of light... If memory serves somebody mentioned that it's started using fingerprint recognition technology, and that its alarm system is of the talking variety which tells potential thieves to go self-replicate Very very nice indeed...
