Eish, it's been a day straight out of a low-budget sitcom; was the school's prize-giving but everything seemed to go wrong. First the bus company sends a bus sans diesel which got stuck halfway to the venue. Then, once the passengers arrived, 90min later, the PA system which had been working flawlessly after i set it up, started howling like a junkie vampire tripping on bad meth every time the minister, who did the ceremonial prayer, approached it... of course, this was AFTER the head slave-driver decided to "tweak" the settings. Then they forgot the book-prizes at school, after i had spent most of a day selecting and buying just the right books for the kids... and so on... and on... be infinitum ad nauseum... so ja, i'm finally heading to the Bat Cave, thank heavens.

@ kryptic, lol, sounds chaotic! At least I work in a bat cave of sorts, but any cave during the day is a tourist destination...the sun needs to go down...
So tonight we are going for Chinese food, then after that to Cuban cafe to do what we seem to do every 26th of October, celebrate Paul's(my friend who also happens to be my boss lately) birthday the best way - puffing on really expensive Cubans. Should be a good one, lots of people coming. The Chinese part is for close friends and the Cuban thing is for everybody, late enough so that those you don't want there will not come.
I am busy working on a presentation that will be presented to ambassadors from quite a few countries. The crap thing is, I am picky when it comes to slick looking presentations. I have no life...

I agree; i love Art History passionately... I'm just addicted to the thrill of resistance and procrastination. I work like a genius the night before a deadline.
@Francois correct the first name of your above post. |

@ Kryptik,
Yhu, that sounds surreal....seems like Murphy's Law was the order of the day! One of those er...'character-building' days.
When you return to the Bat Cave, get the faithful ol' butler Alfred to pour you a stiff dop or two.

For all those wondering about the myths and truths about battery charging and what not try this link:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/[....]prolonging_Li-ion_battery_life
Not only do they describe the pros (no memory effect) and the cons (starts aging from the moment they are manufactured), but also proper care and what not to do (never drain it to 0%).
Hope it helps. |

Thanks Siosal, I'm sure that'll clear a lot of misconceptions between old ni-cads and lithium ion.
It's amazing how battery technology is evolving, particularly as of late, if one also looks at advances in lithium polymer (li-po) and nickel metal hydride cells (nimh) too.
BTW guys, I stumbled across another site for free wallpapers. Nowhere near what http://www.zedge.net offers, but nevertheless:

btw, i see that the Online fraudster has been arrested.
"THE Scorpions have arrested a man believed to be behind at least 120 counts of online bank
fraud.
The 28-year-old man, whose name has not been released because of an ongoing
investigation, was arrested two weeks ago after a joint operation between the Scorpions, Standard Bank and a UK-based security consultancy, which traced the man through his prepaid SIM card on his cellphone...."
"When Scorpions officials arrested the man, they found a laptop computer, three cellphones and 20 SIM cards at
his premises..."
"The fraudulent transactions were all conducted using
Vodacom's data service and the
mobile number used was identified in close collaboration
with Vodacom...."
See?? I said it wasn't me
