Sorry Boba but I think you are wrong!
The R320 TITAN was just a new housing for an existing phone (R320s).
BUT the R320 GPRS is a complete new platform with GPRS hardware and software. There has to be a lot of research to build such a phone and Ericsson announced this phone to be the first prototype which supports GPRS data-connections.
So the intention of Ericsson was to show the network-operators what would be possibl if they would offer GPRS for the customers.
This means, that the network-operators would have to spend money in developing and research for the new feature in the network.
If Ericsson wouldn't have give lots of these protos to the operators they would have said: Okay, GPRS is a good and usefull system.
So they MUST have build hundrets of them but most of them have found a place or which is more reliable, have can crashed after the test.
I know from a friend of me who work for Telekom Austria, that all new handsets they got for tests will be destroyed after some time of usage.

@tiger thats a good point too imo my friend told me what he have heard in that time, it was years ago. didnt thought of it that /// gave those protos to the ops as well, thought they just tested it on their own, as they have their own sytem. when i was in lund with threex, he seerched and had access to some really weird ones ( somehting with 39 was one of it ).

ok! Know what? When my R320 does not cause any troubles in the next few days, I will replace my K800i and put the R320 in its position, first number!!! Am I a fool?!? |

no, you're definitely not a fool, it's a cool idea mate! i tried it once by replacing my k750 with my r520 proto, but didn't work out so well, cause it was unfortunately too big for my pocket, and started to miss the mp3 player now i use it as a second phone, but it's even a better idea imo, cause this way i can keep it's nice condition...
by the way if we're talking about numbers, what do you think, how many wakabas and hedvigs are out there(working and non-workikng ones too)?

@bucheral:
I wouldn't call you a fool. Using a proto is quite funny cause many people will notice it. Sometimes I leave my rosewhite T39 at home and go out with a black T65 proto. So just use and enjoy your new treasure but take care not to drop it since you won't be able to replace it.

It uses MMC-Cards, regular it has been delivered with 32MB (when I'm right) but I know that people used them up to 256MB MMC Cards.
