Well,in the real world we shall see how that adds up. Cos these so called anti finger print coating on screens do not work. And would it not wear out over time?? The Phone Arena review says the anti stain coating never worked. Anyway positive review although the photos look good full size it is still in my eyes not a huge improvement image quality wise. Night photos were poor. And there is still alot of fuzzy colour noise even in daylight at crops. Oh well I sign off from the Xperia S

I've seen alot of idiotic cases in camera reviews.
Like Eldar making cr..ppy shot with Arc which had nothing to do with it's real quality.
And than I took amazing pics with it.
So I will judge when I have it, tuesday.
There already some differencies in opinions between websites like speaker loudness.

For details I prefer the Nokia but the Nokia is lacking a slight contrast & less colours but is more natural. And the N8 can do better than that.

Xperia S still keeps that Sony trait of being quite noisy with the sharpening algorithm like the Arc. That said, focus colour and contrast are really nice.
I suppose it depends what you like, I prefer the smoothness of the close up detail on the N8 but then again it's a little dark. |

Never had N8 photos come out that dark on auto when I had it even in poor lighting

Had a better chance to look at some of the photos on GSMArena review and PhoneArena.
Yes, at full crop they do exhibit that sony noisiness but at scale to fit I am impressed, they do look nice. I would say that jump from 8 - 12mpx is probably hiding some of the close up noise and I also have a feeling that it may have been dialled down a tad. I would say the upgraded cam appears to be definitely worth it.
Had a chance to look at the dummy white version in Phones4U at lunch, wasn't sold on the white version (glad I've preordered the black), as Bono said with the Matt back it going to get a bit grubby, also the white frame around the front makes it look a little odd.
It is definitely design wise a 'different' phone from the Arc, more substantial in the hand and slab like, although it's curved at the back. It was difficult to judge weight (as it was on a silly spring loaded wire) but it didn't feel too heavy in the hand. Capacitive buttons seem fairly easy to press one handed as they are positioned well.
I overlaid my Arc and it's only a fraction wider than the Arc (although it's longer). |

I actually prefer the design of the Arc over the X S

I have to agree, when I held the dummy version in my hand it was surprisingly light, lighter than I expected for it's size, that said I really like the overall size and look of the device. Have to say I like the white Xperia S even more after seeing the dummy one in phones4u.
Xperia S in white ROCKS!! |

Yes,at full size they do look ok like the Arc/Arc S just not a massive improvement over them in my eyes really. I am not saying at all they are awful but not a huge leap. I also hope the anti stain thing does work well especially on the white. But I prefer the Xperia P with the aluminium

Don't buy from buymobilephones.net - I saw the email about them having it in stock, so ordered on the website. It said available but yet I've just had an email saying they'll contact me in 10-15days when it's in stock. Shysters. |

I think your problem is you won't amids that the picture from Xperia S look better than that from N8
The picture form the N8 looks not real color, the picture fom the Xperia S has better real color and sharper than N8
