I think unknown13x mentioned it being cancelled a few weeks back on XDA |

Also, I've got some PM's about Ion's release date and ICS upgrade. The last few times I've checked in EMMA (most recent was 2 weeks ago), they've been testing Ion with ICS on it. So there is a high possibility that it will come with ICS on launch. Xperia S, however, will come as an upgrade about a month after its launch since they don't want to miss the launch date. Just hold your breath and you'll get the ICS in no time.
And keep your eyes out for next week Something might be coming...
Based on this Hayabusa will have the same/worse specs than the ION/XS |

that's hard to believe considering the price differences according to the leaked price sheet.
with the greater difference there should be better specs. i will wait til 2H and see what hayabusa and mint are all about. worst case scenario, the S will be cheaper. win win for me

But MINT should be interesting |

Yea I also think its a phone with s4, which is smart. S(E) should release phones when new platforms are available instead of playing catch up later. Hopefully Mint will have STE 9600, putting in the absolute top of mobile phones. |

Well, Imagination had delayed PowerVR 6 significantly so it will be much longer 'till we see some ST-E 9600 powered devices. Reports say H1 2013. |

You are right. For H2 2012 there will be the Tegra 3 40nm, Samsung Samsung Exynos 4212/5250 32nm, TI OMAP 5 28nm
and Qualcomm Krait 28nm.
The ST-Ericsson NovaThor LP9600 (Nova A9600) is supposed to be available in Q1 2013 28nm.

I think Sony might have one phone coming in Q3 with S4 processor.
Based on all the facts I have seen there will not be a significant change in hardware from 2012 to 2013 as we have seen from 2011 to 2012.

Very interesting article about ST-ericsson.
"ST Ericsson has taped out a dual-core ARM Cortex A-15 set to ship in 2012. It will outgun rivals including the Omap 5 from Texas Instruments because the STE chip uses the Imagination Rogue graphics core, said Gilles Delfassy, chief executive of ST Ericsson and former head of TI's wireless business unit. Due to use of a new vector-processing architecture, the chip should also have smaller size, cost and power consumption than its rivals, he added"

The other article was from October last year.

This one is from January with an estimated release of 2013?.
What is strange is that it is rumored that the next iPad will use the Gogue 6 GPU and release in late March/April
Time will tell. |

This should clarify everything.
At ST-Ericsson the word is: “At this time, we are still planning the A9600 as a 28nm product sampling in 2012 and we are working with ST and the ISDA alliance,” says Pam McCracken.

So this means we'll probably be seeing devices based on qualcomm 28nm processor? Any chances that we'll be seeing a quad core powering mint and hayabusa or Sony is going to stick to dual core for the year?

This is strange, because ST-Ericsson was first to licence IT Rogue months before others which means they have to be first at the market with a product. We`ll see. |

Guys those of you with friends at ST-Ericsson, can you confirm when the A9600 will go into mass production ?
If it won't be available this year, the A9540 is good too. Dual 1.85 ghz cortex A9

Some info on the hayabusa. It will be the first Global LTE smartphone from Sony since the Ion is US only. Of course LTE might not be functional in all countries but the handset itself will have LTE support.
Device Name Xperia Xi
