Ok, I hope I get it right:
When you get the phone, just insert the battery and connect it to the charger. Let it charge for 5 hours, before you switch it on or insert the SIM.
The next 4 recharges just let the battery drain completely and recharge it completely in one "sweep".
Even if manufacturers often claim this isn't neccessary - it still helps to do so from time to time.
Since I'm doing it this way my phones battery always last quite long, compared to complains of other users. |

I was reading this @ Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battery_charger
check out the section that talks about Prolonging battery life, specifically the part about Lithium-Ion batteries....
Could anyone confirm this? |

Lithium batteries degrade more while fully charged than if it is only 40% charged. The conditions of high temperature combined with full charge are exactly the scenario occurring when a laptop computer is run on AC power. Degradation in lithium-ion batteries is caused by an increased internal battery resistance due to cell oxidation. This decreases the efficiency of the battery, resulting in less net current available to be drawn from the battery.

In other words buffboy, dont leave it on charge when its fully charged!!!
ALWAYS do the initial 4-8hr charge, that i do with any phone. i mean isnt that just common sense? also, I always let the phone die before i recharge, and this has always worked for me. its just people tend to leave things on charge longer than required.
from the w890i manual direct:
Charging the battery
The phone battery is partly charged when you buy it.
- Connect the charger to the phone. It takes approximately 2.5 hours to fully charge the battery. Press a key to view the screen.
- Remove the charger by tilting the plug upwards.
You can use your phone while it is charging. You can charge the battery at any time and for more or less than 2.5 hours. You can interrupt the charging without damaging the battery.

Both of your statements do not apply to Lithium-polymer batteries and are therefore false. |

does anyone else find the phone to act really really slow when playing music? i'm hoping this is fixed in a FW upgrade. also, i got an 8gb card, and i find i started getting occasional skips in my music, like a 1 second skip, once per song or so.... anyone else get this?
otherwise, this phone kicks @$$.... so solidly constructed.... i love it! |

hi there rockon, yeah, i said in a previous post of mine:
i'm disappointed that you cannot maximise the visualisations with the walkman player (so it becomes full screen) and i find my walkman runs a bit slow sometimes quickly changing tracks or changing settings (eg equalizer) or navigating the phone while playing music. i think the walkman is a case of if it aint broke dont fix it.
i think that there is also a crackling sound which hopefully should be fixed in next FW update. |

I googled it, it seems to be a site for debranding cell phones, i guess they also have the latest firmware for cellphones, thus, if not listed there, it means that there aren't new firmware releases yet for this particular model...

The one thing I hate about this phone is the keypad back lighting why the hell did they make it cream for crying out loud?! |

Hey there, a couple of points and and also a couple of questions.
Sens Me is brilliant, I use it all the time for creating playlists. Infact i don't even save them anymore as it is so easy to tailor another so suit the occasion.
I don't get any useful shortcuts off the shortcut button either, must be because it is a orange branded phone.
Questions:
I do have some tunes that aren't sensed by Sens Me despite re-scanning with Sens Me manually. Anyone else have this?
Also, I have just bought a 8gb memory card for it. Despite formatting it on my phone i can't get the computer to talk to it, either via the usb cable or via the vaio Pro port. Therefore I can't load on all my data from my replaced m2 card. Anyone suffer this or have any solutions?
Cheers
