Video at 30fps? Playback or recording? I think playback was with us since UIQ 2.0 and the spec is 320x240@15fps or has that changed? |

another quick question : will be W960i support .m4p music files (the file format you get when buying songs off iStore via iTunes)? This file type is usually blocked and only playable on iPods as far as i know, but maybe the W960i is enabled for it?
Anyone ?
Probably wont because its apples format and they dont want to loose customers on iphone/ipod to sonyericsson. But you COULD use HYMN to decrypt your legally bought m4p files to m4a (no quality loss) and then convert to mp3 inside itunes. Please notice that this only works if your computer is authorized to play the file. You cannot download a bunch of m4p files form emule and decrypt them. Wont work!

One week ago I guest that UIQ would be obsolete.
Well, Todays press conf. from SE announces that the UIQ will be sold to 50% to Motorola. You can read my analysis of the UIQ and SE in this thread (somewhere in page 51-52).
My personal feelings about SE are both negative and positive. I think SE should have OEM:ed the UIQ earlier.
Article (In Swedish):
http://www.idg.se/2.1085/1.12[....]erMode=listpostings#a19.288799
So if you are buying a w960, don't expect new Firmware updates after Q2 in 2008 and don't expect Windows Mobile in w960/P1.
Motorola decides the future of UIQ as a 50% owner of the UIQ and therefor decides the future of UIQ, to Obsolete or not.
So, why is SE selling half of UIQ to Motorola?
Neither Motorola nor SE wants to join s60 nor Windows Mobile.
I don't believe that SE is joining forces with Motorola.
And it's interesting (AS HELL) about the SE is branding a phone with Windows Mobile (via HTC).

1. w800i usb access data transfer rate for a memory stick duo is slow (due to the phone)
2. Taking pictures w/h large memory stick results in randomly failure and exiting to phone menu.
3. Last release that I saw for the w800i was 6/4/06, thats ½ year after the phone was released. SHAME!
4. There are still a lot of bugs, for example, copy music to the phone with Disc2Phone (bad software) is Slooow (see no. 1) and the memory gets corrupt, when I listen to some mp3:s suddenly some other mp3 parts appears and back again to the song I listened to. That's a scary memory managment bug in the w800 series.
I still want the memory BUG fixed cause I'm to scared to use memory sticks with the w800 Phone and risk loosing my data. |

No i was quoting something that sony ericsson said in refrence to the fps playback, "TV quality on your phone screen View videos in TV quality on the W960i display. Or connect to your PC, synchronize and enjoy podcasts on your phone. All the software you need - and a stereo headset - is included in phone kit." 30 fps playback. Its on the sony ericsson page
