Ok, the next logical question is "When is week 48?"

So, out of the blue this "jackdaniels" character just states we're going to get everything we want in week 48. Apart from the fact thate he's a prolific poster on the whatmobile.net forums, what contacts or credentials does he have?

It seems the more i use the P990i the more disappointed I become with the device.

I was initially blown away and very happy with the device, but now the frequent crashes and reboots are really taking their toll on my patience. I would have to say that personally, if the next firmware doesn't at least make the phone a tad faster and less crash prone, i'll sadly be putting it up on ebay.

We should not have to exploit bugs and rely on 3rd party apps just to attain a fast and stable phone, especially one that is marketed as a premium device - with a premium price tag.

Anyway, the question is, how much faith does everyone have that our biggest woes will be fixed in the next firmware update?

Exactly the same amount if faith that made us buy this phone which grew more and more by using sonyericsson phones

its always like that people complaining about bugs and making the phone sound unusable the same case with the m600 when it was released and now everyone asking how come the m600 more stable than the p990?? Why there are no bugs in the m600 as much as in the p990?? Well guess what firmware updates did THAT

the only thing i would ask for is more support for the device like application games... etc..

More support for the device will come with 2 major things: more sales, and less churn or turnover of ownership (less ppl selling them so quick because their not happy).

I'm wondering if this will be SE's last major try at Symbian OS phones, and eventually moving to Linux/Java OS. I used to loathe the idea of that, but I wonder lately. Symbian is very mature, and maybe thats its problem in this iteration with UIQ3. Maybe the code needs to be looked at 1 line at a time. I wish there was a way to load only have the subroutines that WiFi or the Opera browser needed without using so much memory.

> Heck would it hurt SE to do a worldwide recall to install MORE RAM in the P990i to appease users? Sure the cost would be tremendous, but imagine how much that would strengthen brandname recognition & brand loyalty, not to mention BOOSTING sales from SE fans/owners/users/potentials if SE can add an additional 24MB of RAM (I maybe using the WRONG wording, and I hate Smartphones for this nomenclature. I mean the memory that helps to load apps and keep them running NOT the memory to store/install apps on the phone). Could SE remove this memory and keep a stockpile of it and install it into an upcoming low entry device? I'm not an electrician, so sew me if it sounds absurd, its just a wild thought.

Hmm.

hmm, if it is true about new firmware that it will be out only sometimes 27.11-3.12, i think i'll sold my p990. Too many bugs and too long time to wait for new release and i dont think new firmware release will fix all problems with this phone...

Yes its a little bit slow but i never experience any crashes or hang with it. I just used the swiss manager. But still waiting for the new firmware so that you don't need a 3rd party application to make your phone stable.

another rumour of 'i was told, somebody told me, read somewhere, blah blah blah"

this happy p990i user is starting to feel frustrated waiting for SE to release a new software/firmware.

should i sell this now and get a new phone, say n93?
