@hanky:
if your phone asks for the pin code there can be two reasons:
1: Bad contact of sim card. Just check contacts for dirt/clean them
2: peaks of too much power consumtion. This can be a result of many defects and I wouldn't go on searching for them. I could tell you at least 15 different faults that I have found out through the past years.
Error 1 comes without restarting while error 2 always comes with a restart so you should be able to check it without any deeper knowledge.
Since you wrote that it's OK for you, just leave it as it is if cleaning the contacts does not help.

I got a silver R520m in fully working condition. BT works ok and so does the sensor. The only problem it has is it is missing the volume slider. Anyone know where to get one?

@rosewhite that problem only appears once in a while, so it don't really bother me.

Nice colection, also with some protos, right?
It seems that there's almost T65 proto (black) and wakaba.
I love these flipflop-coloured S868. Where do you got it? I have myself a yellow-green and a red-brown flipflop S868 which I have been searching for a long time in Sweden:
What about you GA628 JamesBond Tomorrow never dies Edition? Do you have it boxed with the 007-box or just the phone with the limited keypad?

let's see: there are three protos on the picture, the r520m, t65 and the wakaba. i bought the s868 in a Flohmarkt(i don't know the english word, probably kind of a yard sale market) in hungary, it did cost about 4 euros and it works just fine. the ga628 is in mint condition, and it doesen't have a box, i bought the phone and the plate seperately.
i already saw your collection on your website, it is so impressive. i love those protos!! all of it!!

You have a R520m prototype in silver? I have only seen them in copper.

I'm not sure, but I think it has been a copper R520 proto which has now a new cover.
The black keypad is from the original copper housing.

@jcwhite it used to be a copper one, but the faceplate looked so bad i had to change it, and the only original i found was the silver one. but i think it lokks cool!
@boba i don't really know, which one is my favorite... probably the r520 proto, but never been thinking about this. |

nope, unfortunately it was made in Malaysia, and has "i" fw, and i also changed the light to blue, so it pretty much looks like a t68i except for the housing and the IMEI sticker of course. btw, i also have an original t68i |

its possible to "downgrade" it and flash it to "m" version again

i know, but the only things i would like from the "m" is the backgrounds and the startup and shutdown animations, so i'm still thinking about it. |
