Cheap looking and feeling products seemed to have Worked for Samsung, so I guess SE might as well save a few $$ and do the same.

That anzu device will supposedly have a gradient colour scheme like the X8 and the material looks very similar to the X8 unlike the rubberised effect that we see on the top-end products.

Frist of all I want to know how can I connect EDGE from X10 to MAC OSX through Bluetooth? no Wifi no USB.
Second. I have been using Sony Ericsson for a very very long time now. Not that I'm die hard fan of SE but I generally like the design and specs of SE smartphones. They both go really well together. It may not have all the specs but it's always right up there. SE has been making smartphones since a very long time. From P800 to Xperia just shows how many smartphones SE has made till now. Back in the days I have also used T68i which was no less as a smartphone in those days. Using WAP in T68i was excellent.
But now it seems all changed. The industry of cell phone market has changed so much. It's not like those days where it use to take 1 year for innovation. Now it's like every 3-6 months. There is so much of fragmentation. It is a good thing and a bad thing. Good because we can get features quick and not to wait for a long time like we did in the past. Bad because we get left out too at the same time if we use a phone model for 1 year which now seems outdated.
Do you guys really think SE will be able to catch up with such fragmentation? cause look at Samsung - coming out with Dual Core processor in New Galaxy S. Then there is HTC, Dell, LG. I mean there are other players are trying really hard to catch up such fragmentation. But honestly I don't see Sony Ericsson catching up anywhere. Lack of multitouch and 1.6 Android was the only complaint of X10 before and then the delay of update.
Now X12, X7 (SE Windows Phone), PSP Phone are the line up for 2011. If X12 comes out with 800mhz it's going to be another downfall for SE. While X7 and PSP Phone will talk when they get released.
My point is - Is it time to quit SE? I'm really happy with the phones of SE that I have used before and also love my X10i but I need features now. May be am thirsty but I need them. Like I do miss multitouch, wifi tether, apps to SD (I really miss this feature a lot), Adobe Flash and some small features which I can't think of right now. These features have nothing to do with games. I use my X10i for hardcore browsing and documents like excel and pdf. When I look back I feel I compromised lot of Good features that should have been on my phone cause I need them and they are not there which makes me feel, I should go for another company now. May be Apple or HTC?
But still there is a lot of time to buy a new phone. I really hope SE gets a phone which is upto the current market trends. At least with Android version. None of the SE phones have 2.2 Android. Think about it!

I ask myself the same question about the 800 mhz processor...why go backwards? makes no sense but lets wait and see what comes forth officially from SE and not some blog.

i.e. Anzu/X12 is not the best phone to come from SE in 2011. Don't worry fruit will come.
@indiandawg root your X10 with superoneclick then you can install some form of apps2sd, wifi tether, bluetooth tether etc, multi-touch is coming too, officially. Your X10 will still be a worthy phone up until the middle of next year by which time we'll see SE's top gadget for 2011. Flash is the only thing I'm looking for a solution to but even then I'm not too bothered as the X10 is still a kick-ass phone.

I was thinking about that to root X10. Need to browse around XDA so I can understand everything about rooting and it's benefits. No doubt X10 is a kick ass phone right when it had 1.6 android. I had a choice between iphone 4 and X10i and trust me 80% I was sure I want to buy X10i and I ended up buying it lol. Love it!!

Having the X10 has been anything but boring. Its been quite a ride up to now and the downwards part of the course is still to come.Once this phone gets opened up that's when we are all going to be smiing from ear to ear.At least Im going to be.

Its probably more powerful than the CPU in the X10 due to the improvements made. Its also has a much more powerful GPU, Adreno 205 compared to the 200 that's in the X10. Smaller numbers don't always mean lower performance.
As a example.

Exactly, its the same graphics accelerator as the DesireHD, same Scorpion applications processor, just underclocked to 800mhz. Its better suited for HD720p video than the 1st gen Snapdragon found in the NexusOne, Desire and X10, if Anzu has the same battery as X10 it will give great battery life as well, so allround performance boost with that CPU.

Sorry for being naive, but I been reading alot about "rooting" on this thread. What is it exactly and how advantageous would that be for my phone? Disadvantages? |
