N115k for the P1i? What is wrong with SE's sense of pricing? I'll take d E61i over the P1i anyday, and the former cost about half that at launch! But what do I know?

@AYA & pxt: That is just the price from an early stockist. If it sells for 93k (17.5% VAT inc) in Expansys UK it should sell for less here. I expect the price to drop to the range of 80 - 85k in less than 7 days as more suppliers receive thier stock. I even forsee a drastic price drop of the P1 due to expected slow sales as more people would rather wait to hear the experiences of early adopters to avoid the P990 disaster.
Meanwhile, the only other UIQ 3.1 device, the Motorola Z8 sells for 27k at Park and Shop, VI |

@brym!: Even Expansys' 93k is madness, IMO. I maintain that comparable (and in some cases more capable) devices sold for much less (almost half that cost) at launch.

That's more like it for the Z8. I understand that without a touchscreen, the Z8 understandably costs much less, but that can't be the reason for the obscene difference in price. SE keeps shooting itself in the foot with its pricing. They certainly need to take another look at that.

Boy! I handled the HTC 4350 yesterday and I was so impressed with the compact size of this slim silder. The OS is WM5, though upgradable to WM6. Other features are more or less standard for similar WM devices.
The designs, finishing and functionality of HTC devices are commendable for a company that produced its first WM device just 4 years ago.
I really will love to see a Nokia or SE smartphone with similar form factor ie candy bar with a side-sliding qwerty keypad. And about time too for Nokia to enter the touch screen interface market and save Symbian's UIQ from imminent collapse.
Any WM device user here may want to check http://www.whoneedsaniphone.com to see this cute flashed-based UI the WM community is developing and testing.
Anyone interested in a fairly used WM5 device?

@angel: DomainStandard had the same issue with Reltel's phone. The phone had all the markings of 'refurbished', and we knew that replacing it would only place another refurbished unit in our hands. We eventually abandoned the line.

For those who were discouraged by the N115k opening price of Sonyericsson's P1, don't despair. The price is crashing fast. Current price is N90K. I hope W960i will crash like this too when it is launched.
