Hrmmmm, when was IP58 confirmed? AFAIK we've only heard water/dust resistant. It could just wind up being IP57 like the Xperia Z.
Wonder if/when we'll see a drop rating applied to a flagship phone |

i dont think its possible to apply a drop rating on a phone and still keep it beautiful like a Flagship should be. Cuz i think it have to be thick and rubbery..

Maybe, maybe not. This is the latest Cybershot TF1
According to the Sony website it's waterproof to 33 feet and shockproof from drops of 5 feet. Sure it's 22mm thick, but it at least indicates that a rugged device doesn't have to be ugly. I guess it depends on what sort of compromises they have to make for a phone when you get to around 10mm or so. Then again we do have the Xperia Active and Go which can take quite a beating, although I don't think they're officially rated as shockproof. |

this is ugly IMO, And Xperia Active was ugly too.. Xperia Go was a little more good looking but not beautiful |

this is nice looking...15.4mm thick only...
The sleek and stylish camera fits the slimmest pocket or purse, yet is waterproof to a depth of 33 feet, shockproof from falls up to approximately 5 feet and dustproof thanks to its airtight construction. This durable camera can even withstand extreme weather conditions, as it is operable as low as 14 degree Fahrenheit4.

That looks very slick. Wouldn't mind if the Honami's back looked like that with a similar cover for the camera. |

Will the One Sony bigger than Xperia Z? I mean the dimension not the thinkness.
Xperia Z is already quite large (139 x 71 mm)
I hope One Sony can control the width and height.
Quite hard to use a phone with over 70 mm width by one hand.
Thank you. |
