Well, SE probably makes them available for service centres first (via EMMA) so if davinci has acces to that...
Anybody already tried the new FW ?

Not yet - still in work. But will be reflashing as soon as I get home and will report back.
Someone's bound to be doing it right now though - would be interesting to hear about any changes in R1L. Pretty sure they were just fixing the GPRS issue, but better Bluetooth implementation would be very welcome. |

I just ran the update again, hoping for the best but I got R1J002 just as before
Then again I have EU_1 which wasn't listed on DaVinci.

Trying SEUS now with my EU_2, I'm expecting it to be R1J still but I'll let you know if it surprises me.
[edit] Nopes, still R1J

Just had mail from O2
Apparently my replacement handset is with DHL in transit so it looks like the GPRS fix has got to O2 and new handsets are coming out.
Will report SWR version when handset arrives.

That's annoying about DaVinci having R1L, I only flashed the other night (unbranded). Well I won't waste another credit. The SEUS still has R1J, but I can't imagine it will be long.

I think they'll be keen to get this firmware up as quickly as they can - I can imagine the networks hassling them about lost gprs revenue etc.

got my replacement 750i from O2 this morning. its a week 21 model (I had week 19 before), with the old firmware R1A044 (pre seus update...) not as I'd hoped a fixed version of the newer firmware R1J002.
seems they either forgot to do mine or they're playing it safe until an authorised (by o2) update comes out on seus. New one works perfectly (as did my previous one until the update) but it's disappointing that the speed and tweaks made in R1J002 are wiped away 9tho gprs is thankfuly restored.
Seeming o2 just issued me a new phone to stop the gprs issue..... by back dating the firmware.. total waste of time really if I had known they were messing about doing this I'd probably have waited and updated the firmware when it's supposedly imminently issued.
if it ain't broke fix it until it is.

| It will update no matter what, like it did for me two hours ago. If you end up with a new firmware please let us know.

Don't get too excited, its more than likely just flashing R1J again, unless somethings changed in the last hour or so.

You want intelligent software too. You are asking for WAY too much
I'd just like new firmware, then they can start working on the SEUS software, lol

I dont understand what else you would have wanted them to do ?
You buy a phone with initial firmware, update to a new firmware that has a gprs issue, send it back because of this gprs issue. The supplier does not have another firmware yet that fixes the gprs issue, ergo they only have 2 choises, send you a new phone with initial firmware to solve your gprs issue, or ignore your problem and wait untill a new firmware is released before they send the phone back with updated firmware.
Obviously they cannot fix the problem without a new firmware, they cannot send you a "fixed version of the R1J firmware" thats not possible. You cannot fix a firmware, you create a new one, and this has to come from S//E first.
They fixed your problem, by sending you a new phone with an earlier firmware where gprs works. To me thats good service, they could have just said no, wait for new firmware and your problems will be fixed.
