@dr_thug: It's just after 4am on our side...I don't know what Gibbs could possibly have told KK Paul but it's certainly not "big" news over here..it's been reported that he met with the police but the chances that they'll actually arrest and prosecute him is remote.

BTW, congrats on the new toy....was thinking of getting an M600i but recent reviews have been quite scathing.

What's up, doc?

Congrats on your new P990i! I'm such a big fan of UIQ3, and I look forward to upgrading to a P990i as well, hopefully within the next few months, so that my P900 can finally be put to rest.

The email was forwarded to me by one of my sisters-in-law.

I see Mohammad Azharuddin and Jagmohan Dalmiya are also attending the glitzy cricketing ceremony, honouring the past captains etc.

Surely those two detectives had no right to dispose of the poor kids' liquor? I mean how else do you get the booze from the bottle store back home? That's R800 poured down a drain, whatever happened to following procedure? Backseat passengers may drink.

@psycho: Is that on the PS2? Right now I'm really enjoyed Black after almost giving on shoot-em ups following my frustration with Metal Gear Solid 3.

Right now we're babysitting our friend's 2 years old twins and 5 year old daughter, and I'm knackered already. I had rice crispies ralphed on my legs as well. Methinks I abandon any ideas of a future Amawanqa Aftercare. This is gonna be a long morning...

Yes it's a PS2 game; sort of a Tekken and San Andreas cross. Only read excellent reviews...

And then, ps3, xbox360, or wii? Not too keen on the wii; my brother seems to have hijacked my ps2 tho so im looking-

Right, my duties as bestman are nearly over, waiting for the reception to begin now. Took some photos of classic Bentley open tourers at the beach when we went there for some pix.

@Psycho, usually i'd agree with you in that legally the detective should not have confiscated their liquor, but given the fact that they were giving lip after having driven in such a fashion begs the question whether he wasn't morally correct in his actions? Liquor + irate youngsters = potential disaster. In fact, i would probably have done the same, even gone to the extent of giving them an official warning for reckless driving, or hauled them off to the station for a breathalyser test.

I agree. I am tired of reading about accidents where young people are involved and drunk. So if they get killed, so what? They probably deserved it. Well, my issue is that it is usually not the guilty party who gets as badly hurt as the others, so if they drive like a donkey, punish them. I take my hat off to those cops, especially because those kids drove like fools. Yesterday everyone here seemed to do the same. It was crazy! In 9km we were in 3 potential situations that could have caused accidents. The one driver did 3 of the most stupid things i have seen anyone do in a car in less than 200m, almost hitting us on the first stupid thing right after they ran a red light.

So, its a tie. I wish i cared. I feel so left out everytime the bulls play. Why is it so important? It is sport.

At the same time it must be said that the SA police abuse their power. I have been intimidated and threatened with arrest in broad daylight, dead sober. Why? Because, when verbally harrassed, i let the dude know that i am acquainted with my rights. Is...

that being cheeky or assertive? I think it's damn cheeky of a cop to waltz up to me and make unreasonable demands. Esp when it's clear that he's just looking for a reason to bother a girl. Sorry but i'd prefer them to avoid using their moral discretion!!

@ Kryptik,
Hope the rest of the day's proceedings, including your bestman's speech (which I'm sure you would've thrived on preparing...I can half imagine a twinkle in your eye..)
I'm sure conjuring fond memories of the groom would've provided ample sustenance for you to spin an intriguing bestman's speech, ably assisted and amplified by your creative flair.

BTW, damn nice pic of those vintage Bentleys...I'd hate to guess what they are collectively worth...

Never thought I'd do it but I bought my first Ipod today.
PS: Anyone catch either the rugby or the football today? Both draws...why couldn't the play the Currie Cup until a winner is decided?
