With sound ? quite a large amount. Probably around 500kb.
Since the K700 has 32mb of memory, and only about 12-14mb of which available as storage, i think the k700 will suffer from the same memory suffocation as the T610 and its family.
Im interested, why would SE add a duo slot under the battery if the phone doesnt support duo's ? or maybe the slot is only there in the current prototype versions of the phone and wont be in the final unit.
Currently, i need a new phone, my T610 is about to die on me ( my own fault ) and i need a replacement. I dont know whether to get a K700 or a 6600 until the S700 is released. |

I can, as i need a good phone with a good VGA camera to last me until the S700 arrives.
Ive already owned a P900, and sold it (with profit!) as i didnt like it.
So for me right now its a choice between the sexy K700, or the superior ( memory and OS wise ) 6600.
the other reason i like the 6600 is when bluejackin it has much futher range than my current t610... and maybe more than a K700 ? |

I cant comment on the BT range of a K700 vis-a-vis a 6600. However, my plan is to get a K700 right now and then to get the ultimate, the S700.

Mine too, however for the few couple of months a 6600 might be cheaper on PAYG or sim free than a K700..
from my experience, a 6600 has much more reliable bluetooth range, it will easily pickup and communicate with other devices upto and over 10m. My T610 and everyone elses who i tested ( i have lots of friends with T610's) often struggle to reach 10m, and sometimes much less than. ! :'( |

Yup, the 6600 is a good phone overall. So what do u think? |

For me it will come down to which is cheaper when the K700 is released..
I love the style of the K700, the interface, the fact it has a radio, and that cool panorama feature with the camera..
But the nokia has more memory.. more advanced OS.. possibly more reliable Bluetooth...
Price will determine which i go for as a T610 replacement until the S700 graces my sweaty palms. |

more reliable bluetooth? i don't think so. based on my experiences with nokia's bluetooth enable phones, it's totally crapped up.
i've got a burning qn here. is the k700 able to stream videos (.avi .mpg etc)? and how much would a s700 cost? |

according te reviews the k700 has 32mb free memory for the user to use. thats enough for at least a couple of minuts of video |

32mb of memory shared between storage and the phones OS / running memory.
Apparently only around 12-14mb of the memory is available to the user as storage, the rest is used up by the OS, firmware ROM and operating space.

etaab,
although the review from eldar states that there is only 12-14 mb fot the user, there isn't good confirmation on the subject.
but the review on http://www.howardforums.com/showthread.php?threadid=358003 states that the phone has approx. 40 mb memory and the reviewer expects that the o/s takes up only 8 tot 10 mb allowing the user to use 30 to 32 mb.
ofcourse we know nothing for sure until the phone is offialy released |

on this foto you can see clearly that it say 40378KB or
+/- 40MB free memory
So maybe it's not true that you only would have 14MB or so that you can use

See for your self and let me be naïve
*Still hoping on a lot of memory

Yea, thats what I hope for! If the memory is at least 30mb, I will buy it, but if it is less, it has not enough space for mp3 files, and it might as well have been without a mp3player at all. And for me mp3 support is very important, so the ammount of memory will actually be the determining factor for me. |

I really do hope it has that 40mb available to the user, and its not shared - it'll be great for the odd MP3, lots of pictures and some videos with sound.
I wouldnt use the K700 as an MP3 player anyway, i used my iPaq 1930 for that, and right now i use my xda2 with a 512mb sd card !
None of them would beat an iPod though.
