My T310 with R2J firmware does not support synchronization. Therefore, how can I edit the phonebook data ? Even on FMA's older version (9.9.5), I could not find a way to do this.

Note that editting the SIM card data was OK.

BTW, there is a NEW VERSION of FMA available!

FMA 0.09.10

It has much better T610 Support!

What's new?
- Identification panel is aligned to status diagram.
- "No items to display..." message in Phonebook and
SMS messages views.
- New synchronization scheme, based on Obex transffer
which is fasssster (in times).
- Synchronization progress dialog is implemented.
- Some new icons, and About pic.
- Unicode support in tree vew explorer.
- UTF-8 and UTF-7 support for Phonebook and Profiles
which means CE (cyrillic etc.) symbols support and
other i18n I hope.
- Trying to set UTF-8 or Latin-1 character sets only
if they are supported by phone.
- Connection initialization on connect/disconnect.
- New Message Indicator Mode detection and proper use
No Error 303 on T610 any more.
- Font Setting profile option is used if it's supported
by the phone.
- Font and Key Sound options support detection.
- Will not display error message on long operations as
entering a PIN code.
- SIM status is retrieved and shown in status bar on
connect allowing Emergency Mode (not used yet) if
SIM is absent.
- Bug-fixes.

Finally it also works for me that when an SMS arrives it gets displayed on my PC ( Win XP SP1 ) Way cool!

some of the servers listed at sourceforge does not have 0.9.9.10 yet (flow (au), keihanna (JP), cesnet (CZ)).

this link to the UMN (US) server works.

----

it now has an installation routine, unlike before when all you have to do is just copy the latest executable to wherever was the location of your old datafiles.

if you want to use your old data files, just copy your old data files:
contacts.ME.dat, contacts.SM.dat, SMSarchive.dat, SMSinbox.dat, SMSsent.dat to where you installed the new fMA.

--------
improvements i noticed so far:
- when i first launched it, the default setup worked out without having to tinker with my other BT settinngs (it seems that the default is for BT com port # 4)
- the sound events works now (it didn't work out before in my setup)
- i concur that sync is now faster!
- less cryptic error/info messages
- sending messages in the archive back to phone or sim still isn't working

more later ...

-----------
feature request:

- draft SMS container
can we have some place to save our draft / unfinished SMS messages instead of losing them when we have to reply to an incoming sms while composing a message?

- archive for old contacts
there are times that i have to remove certain contacts from the phone but don't want them deleted permanently. can we move these contacts to "local memory" (if that's the purpose of that curious little folder there )

all in all, great work guys! fMA just keeps on getting better.

I hope Float's Mobile Agent can be like http://www.macmedia.sk/pa.htm

It will have many feature, including themes, MMS.
For SMS: can save long SMS in full mode (not separate now), can save unsent items.

Thanks for the info. When can we expect some very minimal documentation on how to use FMA??? I can connect OK and refresh SMS and Phonebook, but
- what's "Local" and how do I get something into it?
- how do I use the new Notes, Sounds, Pictures, etc.?
The UI could use some work. For example, when I refresh the Phonebook FMA reports that it's synchronizing. I hope not, at least, I hope it's not writing to the mobile!

Hi Warren,

I am a newbie and i have been directed to your software by someone else in these forums. I am trying to download SMS text messages from my T68i to my PC via an MSI Btoes Bluetooth dongle. I have downloaded version 0.9.12 but it won't connect with my phone. I've read that the Bluetooth connection requires XP SP1 which i have got installed but i am using the Bluetooth drivers supplied with the dongle and not any Microsoft ones. Is that my problem? Or do i need a specific script to run with your software. Sorry if i seem stupid but i am not particularly computer literate and i will need someones help to hold my hand on this one. Many thanks, the program looks like just what i want if i can get it to work.

Hi Guys,

Yes me again. Sorry but i am obviously a complete and utter fu*kw*t. Have now set the connection to virtual serial port and kept increasing the port number and hey presto it connects fine on port 6. So if anyone else is having problems keep increasing the port number until you get one that works. I have to say Warren that you are a genius. This program works brilliantly and i am delighted. Thanks mate you are a star.
By the way, Sonyericssin, Vodafone, the Vodafone shop, the Carphone Warehouse, phones4u all said that this was impossible and couldn't be done. I am going to take great delight intelling them all that they know fu*k all about their own product. CHEERS!!!!
