+1 vote for 1 party mode... leave portrait the way it is, and MOD twilight portrait so it can have fast AF and no slow sync..
Remember when i said "im in a contest... took some pictures in the house... they dont look so good... maybe its SE sensor..." well thats what i got. pix looket way too processed, making them painting-like (like the guy posted). Well outside pictures are great, u need to work a bit on indoor pictures. try to use nr1 2.99 code for that part of the driver, and MODit a bit, lets test it and see what happens |

I don't understand why them look so bad. Pictures seems to not correspond the modes you said... For example, the first pic sure it's not Portait.
small guide:
1) If you're indoor and there's light try first PORTRAIT mode WITHOUT FLASH (6fps shutter)
2) If you see there's noise, use AUTO mode WITH FLASH.
3) If it's dark use TWILIGHT PORTRAIT WITH FLASH (1/2 sec exposure)
4) If there's VERY VERY poor light use PORTRAIT WITH FLASH (2 sec exposure)
So what mode would you define or recommend as true PARTY-Mode ?
Poor light and moving objects (people) at distance from 1-3 meters.
For me a PARTY-Mode should also have fast AF.
I think in each driver, there should be at least one TRUE Party-Mode cause everyone will need it some time, there aren't always flowers, trees, bees or TV-watching dogs to be shot....
Auto mode has 1/80s flash shutter and for me it's good for use at parties. The 1/2s slow sync mode is good too, when people isn't moving too fast. |

Well I don't know how you take the indoor pictures but mines are good. I can't teach you about photography. Post comparison between indoor pics with different drivers, and show me if the other drivers doesn't look painted in flash pics. You have lots and lots of flash pics with Ultimate in this thread and all are good. Is evident that 'that-guy' is not using settings correctly.

yea, thats so true.. for indoor pics with low light, like in my comparison.. the pics come out too processed. and i tried it even a few times, not just one time.. and with the suggested modes and settings from jomateixa.. that didn't helped somehow.. |

But man....let's talk. What kind of pic do you want to take? You're indoor, at medium distance and there's light but not too much. Why don't you set Auto mode with flash and shot? I don't understant what do you want.

like an self portrait picture, without flash in this medium light.. because with flash, everything is just too bright and the light source (a little lamp) which i wanna use, will just dissappear because of the flash. |

i was able to get a good pic, with number ones driver.. very easy, as you can see here http://www.flickr.com/photos/22787469@N08/2278387140/ , and without flash! but until now i was unable to get the same or even a better result with the ultimate driver, you've seen the results. But it doesn't matter, i'll try it this evening again, and maybe i'll film it and show it to you, no problem |

Aha! You want indoor pic/tungsten poor light without flash and without noise ==> Buy a Digicam with larger lens, cuz with K800 is impossible.
And I repeat you don't used modes correctly, this is NOT PORTRAIT I'm sure:
portrait mode, without flash, nothing else changed
portrait mode, without flash, -0,7 EV , nothing else changed
Is Twilight Landscape man. (The blue noise => Incandescent WB)

I don't want you to film it. But I say something, read carefully:
IF THE LIGHTSOURCE IS THE SAME THAN ON NUMBER1 PIC, I'm sure that if you use PORTRAIT mode without flash result will be BETTER, cuz it has 6 fps shutter, and Number1 has 7,5.
In that Number1 pic the light seem to enter through the windows, and in mine seem like tungsten bulbe

ok i'll try it again this evening, and i'll do it with number1 and then with ultimate.. EXACTLY as you explained... same pics, same lightsource and using PORTRAIT mode without FLASH (same like yesterday, but this time again, with freshly installed driver, 2.39 withan)... and if it then looks horrible like yesterday.. i don't know more.. because i'm using these modes correctly.. we'll see this evening.. |

@that-guy
It's easy, you'll recognize PORTRAIT mode by its slow fps viewfinder. Maybe you have non english language in your phone and you are not using portrait mode really...For example, in spanish Portrait is called Retrato. |
