hi this is what i think. im not a p1i fanboy btw.

1. Imho i think its better. (all around)
2. its a bit smaller, very easy to cary around
3.stable? i has never crashed on me before, but there r some bugs that
can crash the device, i have never experienced it but i only have the
device 3 days.
4. its def. faster, anyone will say that, its much faster than m600/p990 (ram)
5. easier to use?hmm. what i miss on it to be more phone like is a dedicated hardware button to pick up / end calls (and not the wheel)
so its not more like a phone.
5. keyboard: at first i didnt like it, but after a day or to and doing some texting, i must say i can type almost as fast as on a full qwerty.
6. battery is much better than p990/m600. didnt have to recharge it yet (bt on)

hope this helps u a bit!

Thanks Swiftfox,
Well if the speed and the battery are much inproved thats a massive bonus as the P990 drags it's feet.
What about the screen? Is is easier to see in daylight now?
I take it you have to touch the screen to awnser a phone call now?

Glad to hear about the keypad too, I've got Wednesday off so must go into to town to see if any shops have it although I doubt it.

yes its good under sunlight to my surprise, better than my p990 i used to have.
you can answer with the touchscreen or pressing the wheel, or decline a call pressing the back button under the wheel.

Thanks, is the bluetooth better now as well as on the P990 my headset would work but to get the voice dialling to work was a nightmare as the phone refused to let you record a voice tag using the headset, so you had to shout very loudly and hope for the best if driving.
Also is it better to get a sim free version of the phone? What are the chances of Orange UK totally ruining the homescreen? I wasn't too bothered of them doing it on the P990 but I have a feeling they'll completley screw up the shortcut apps thing and they STILL have yet to release the last P990 firmware update!!

people discussing this earlier in the thread seem satisfied

I didn't get this extra kit so can't comment directly

Yeah, we got ripped-off in Britain AGAIN. We should collectively stop buying all these luxury items and watch the manufacturers queue-up to give us all a better deal. Trouble is that we won't, we just take it on the chin like morons.

I got mine from x1387 outta HK and even if it came with the GPS stuff I wouldn't use it in the same way I don't use the GPS in my N95. I have a decent Garmin 670 with US/EU/AUS maps for all that

so I'm not too concerned, and possibly its down to licencing issues that SE can't give it in UK boxes so you can't always blame SE
