Lets face it. Battery life is what it all comes down to when you really need your cellphone. All the other stuff is just for entrtainment comparitively. |

I ended up upgrading to the w810 which i am NOT happy about! I like my phone powerful and big. But those idiots at CellC had only two weak SEs in stock. I was just about to get the N80 when the assistant found the w810 somewhere in the back of the shop.
It irritated me so much, because i had no choice; my other phone just DIED this morning. I should have gone for the N80, what was i thinking! Ive just heard some dodgy stories about them. Now im having problems receiving my GPRS settings? Help?

Tell the battery life thing to any teenager and you would get sneered at...then again, teenagers don't know anything other than sneering...
The battery life of my phone both amazes me and pisses me off at the same time. When I use applications or look at photos and such the battery life is non-existent. But when I listen to music or watch a movie, the Duracell bunny and I seem to have an understanding. Video less than audio, but it still lasts for some reason. Talking about that, I did not charge my battery nearly long enough on the first charge, maybe there are some issues relating to that...
@ wanqa, will maybe check all that out sometime...still want to upload some video from Thursday night's show....

Point a: the K800 is not available free on all contracts. I have to pay in R699 on my contract.
Point b: I don't believe the concept of charging for 14 or so hours on your first charge. I was told by a cell phone rep that this only had merit with nickel cadmium batteries as the cells went dormant. The lythium batts work on a dirfferent principle, therefore making that theory null and void.
My dad only charged his k750 till it was full and he gets amazing bettery life. Besides, your charger (should) cut off any incoming power once the batt is full to avoid damaging it. A constant flow of current into a battery could be detrimental.
On the topic of the w900 battery, I've noticed certain things drain the batteries on phones moe than others. With gprs usage being the biggest one of all. |

@ sosial,it is true that gprs,3g and such makes the battery go faster. It gets demonstrated well by a phone in a bad reception area. I used this example before, but it is good:
Both of my sisters got exactly the same phone on the same day and charged it the same length. The one is Vodascam and the other is Cell Crap. Cell c had the worst reception ever and vodacom, well, there is a tower a block away(but i do suspect alien involvement, a disintegrating laser wiping our community sooner or later)
My sister on cell c has the worst battery life, worse than a fighter jet on aa batteries. Vodacom is fine in this regard. Proof once again that i am bored.

@786 I appreciate the offer, but no thanks. I was really only giving an example, and I have only ever bought one phone. I doubt I'll do it again soon. They are only phones after all. People on these forums (in general) seem to get bored very easily with their phones.
I myself am still fascinated by my 2 year old k700.
@francois Signal strength really does denote how long your battery will last. And the amount you move around contributes to that. So if you travel your battery will work harder compared to someone who stays in one place. |

M600???
I just had a taste of the M600 fone today. So cool except that the one I was trying was vodafone branded. I like the touch screen thing.
I really liked that fone. I think its going to be my next fone. |
