@ psycho, i am an observer...i am the guy who would sit on the sideline, and make fun of life...that is what makes it worth it on some days....I have had my days right in front of the stage taking the full fury of the mosh pit, but there would always be a sweaty guy without a shirt behind me, and for some reason he would jump on my foot, and I would get tired of giving the drunk bugger the fist, so yeah=) lol!

@ Brix, should have given a list of keywords to this 21-year old....like head banging, and crowd surfing....had some killer crowd surfing going on last night....Will be putting together a noisy video blog later and upload it to myspace, but the sound will be highly distorted...

Oh, this is funny:

Styles(they even have styles?lol!)

There are various styles of head banging, including:

* The up and down: the most common style, which involves shaking the head up and down. This style is demonstrated at the climax of the "Bohemian Rhapsody" scene in the movie Wayne's World. (this was quite funny-legendary movie)

And on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Headbanging the picture they use is a South African picture...quite interesting!

@ Francois,
I would sooo love to have been at the gig as well. Glad to hear that it was such a success.
If you're able to get this side of the pond around 8-10 June 2007, let me know...the Download Festival 2007 is on. No confirmed bands as yet, but if this year's line-up was anything to go by...:

Cypress Hill and House Pain...some good hiphop to mosh to.

Hei, now both of those I diiiggg!!!House of Pain's 'Jump' immediately comes to mind (a delightful music video taken partly in a pub and amongst St. Patrick's Day paraders on the street), and Cypress Hill's iconic Black Sunday album is one of my all-time faves.
The first time I heard Cypress Hill was when they had 'Cock The Hammer' on the 'Last Action Hero' soundtrack, around '93 if I'm not mistaken, but my 3 fave CH songs have to be Insane In The Brain, (I'll never forget Beavis and Butt-head bopping to this)Hits From The Bong and the legendary, dreamy 'Wanna Get High....!'
Did you guys ever see the music video to Dr. Greenthumb? Their Skulls n' Bones double album was also really bril and memorable.

Insane in the brain was classic...But my favorite was still the Spanish album with that on...Jim used to have it in his car...why? No-one knew, him least of all! Oh the old days...

My word, that line-up looks so cool! Do not know if I would be able to handle so much loud music in 3 days....lol! Do not know half of those bands!

I see Stone Sour also played, Corey Taylor of Slipknot's other band...Never heard them...wonder if they are any good....

@ Francois,
I'm no Stone Sour fan; it's a lot less er... phosphorous compared to The 'Knot, more bordering on run-of-the-mill hard rock...(IMHO)
I'm not that mad about Joey Jordison's other project as well, ie. Murderdolls. Their music doesn't float my boat either. Just my personal prefernces, of course.
As Slipknot played at the Download Festival the year before, they weren't thus present at this one, but who knows...maybe next year again, with the likes of Machine Head etc. in tow, all being well...

I just saw in the Citizen on the front page an article about Lolly Jackson, owner of Teazers, and how he wants to go to Church because he has had bad luck, including his house burning down...my word, the guy must be stupid! It's like: "Hey God, I know I am bad, but here is an hour a week, and while we are at it, some money...can we just forget about the whole thing? Make my bad luck go away..."

Regarding his attitude towards his business, seems like he is trying to follow in the footsteps of Hooters, who calls themselves the "Family Restaurant". He refuses to advertise on tv, because they put him in the late night slot with all the sexual content, and he does not want to associate his business with scummy sex movies and sex advertising...

This guy really came from the bottom of the gene pool when rational thinking is involved...then again, all round probably...anybody can sell naked women, it does not require brains...

Taken from News24:

A South African airliner aborted a flight from Cape Town to Johannesburg on Friday after a "verbal threat" from two passengers, an airline official said.

A spokesperson for Kulula.com, a local low-cost airline operated by Comair, a franchised partner of British Airways, said the captain followed standard procedure and returned the aircraft to Cape Town airport.

"At no time were any of the passengers or crew in danger," said spokesperson Glenda Zvenyika.

Zvenyika said the "unknown verbal threat" was made less than 30 minutes into the flight of MN120 taking off from Cape Town for the two-hour flight to Johannesburg.

Police and emergency services surrounded the plane, carrying 151 passengers and six crew, immediately after it landed and was parked at an isolated section of the airport.

All passengers were later escorted off the plane into waiting buses and taken back to the airport terminal.

Police spokesperson Billy Jones said two South Africans were taken in for questioning to determine whether criminal charges would be filed.

Officials said Cape Town airport was functioning normally.

Now then, what type of cretin (or cretins) could be so bloody stupid?!

I really, really feel for the passengers, crew members and families/relatives that were affected by these twats, and the amount of inconvenience, expense etc caused by them as well. My blood boils when I hear things like this.
I hope the powers that be 'throw the book' at them, if they are indeed found guilty.

Our capacity for stupidity will never cease to amaze me! The chances are that it was something really stupid that was said...

Remember the Arch's son, Trevor? If memory serves he got sent to the slammer a few years ago for costing SAA a few shekels by forcing a flight to be grounded after making a bomb threat in Wanqa's backyard... and eventually he got the TRC to pardon him...
I'm not superstitious, merely mildly stitious.

After a whole day spent chasing information on the "hijacking" incident at Cape Town International Airport...I went back to Long Street and chilled with a couple of friends atop a roof overlooking Long Street while sipping cocktails and watching the sun set over a beautiful city.

Taken tonight in the local Blockbusters store and priced in Pounds:
(Not nearly the quality of da brixsta's N70's cam, at all, but still clear enough to make out most of the details).

So what did you guys do this evening? I ended up at Menlyn playing ten pin bowling. It was okay, other than the balls being greasy. It was rather disgusting. I mean, Menlyn is the biggest shopping centre in Pta, and surely at 34 bucks a person they can afford to wash the jolly balls. After that we went to a friends house to watch national treasure. Then a beer or two at news cafe. Not an entirely exciting evening, but it was good.
