@ Kryptik,
I saw a bike on eBay tonight that made me think back to my studying days in PE. It was my first 1100 motorcycle, and as I stayed in Summerstrand yet worked at Greenacres on the weekends, I relished the trip back to the res. Why? I often took the route all the way down Mount Road, right to the bottom where it meets Main Road (where Sharwoods Motorcycles were, I know they've changed their name since then) and there was a definitive 'ramp' at the intersection from that side... This would always have me flying through the air with the bike as I hit it at high speed (if the traffic lights were still green, of course...), just before crossing the road to to the flyover ramp for Humewood/ Summerstrand.
Sigh...the little things in life and those more care-free days...
Wanqa's EDIT: LMAO, you're so right, and I'm sure he also wouldn't be able to resist a pop at ET's unplanned dismount off his horse while the AWB were having their little march/ parade, with all the TV cameras and public watching...

that ramp is still there, Wanqa, and it's still as lekker as always to zip over it when the circumstances are just right! My daughter's always urging me to go faster when we're approaching that ramp, also when we're heading down into the 3rd avenue dip in Newton Park. She says she likes the weightlessness. I reckon she's aiming to be S.A's first female cosmonaut
Have you guys seen how two Cape Town guys are using Mxit to run their

Mortification in South Africa? My word, I did not even know they knew where South Africa was! lol! That is the one thing around here, we do not have a shortage of metal bands, but they all seem to, well, suck. Everyone plays in a metal band, but show me one good band? They just don't exist. I do not have very high standards, and not even my low standards can be met in this regard.
I think it was POD that signed up Blindside or something like that, but I know about them sort of being linked in a way like that.
That is cool about mxit being used for business. I have suspected this for a while, and am sure some big companies are using it. Telkon rips off regardless, so yeah...

Happy Teacher's Day, Wanqa. I heard that the UK teachers are all wearing ties today, as a form of solidarity with teachers in countries where conditions are less conducive to the art of moulding young minds... Over here we'll be treated to coffee and biscuits laid on by the school, during second interval. Whoop de doo, how exciting, can't wait lol!

@ Francois, Mortification played at a few venues around SA on their world tour, even in Bloem!

I have to agree with you wrt the vast majority of SA metal bands. DieVersion, I thought, were the exception; they were brilliant.

@ Kryptik,
Oh hell, I didn't even realise it was, and after reading your post, I asked a few colleagues, including the assistant head teacher...all were oblivious!!
LOL, so much for thinking of those teachers in places like Sudan et al...
I did a few searches and it seems to be running for a few years now...eish, don't we feel dof now...
Oh well, I've now put a notice on the whiteboard in the staff room with a few links, so all these other tie-less colleagues around here can read up and think of words like solidarity etc...
There's already a few guilty-looking expressions amongst some of the more compassionate Pom colleagues... so much for first world 'awareness'...
Enjoy the bickies. |

After a month we'll be doing that Xmas shopping, all those presents for all those people.I hate it!January comes again and we are a cashless society.Man!

how pathetic...once again telcon. phoned info to try to get the number, it is the number of a bus company, and I got the number of a jolly auto electrician. and the lady that took my request could barely speak properly. she made sounds that might have resembled human speech on some other planet, but her weakness here, this is earth.
where to now? the only contact that I know that can help me had the unfortunate event of his dad dying last night. do not want to bother him.

roflmao!! And here I thought i was playing Jiminy Cricket by deliberately mentioning Teacher's Day in the staffroom this morning, to the extent that i mentioned the tie thing, which drew some muttered comments about attire Not that i really give a fig, i haven't worn formal attire in many a year, let alone a tie lol! There's quite a convivial atmosphere here today, even the kids are keeping the usual rowdiness to under 100dB, and there's a noticeable drop in the number of patients being brought to me for First Aid

I know where I was on the 5th of November...I was frustrated at seeing other regional forums. Another price watch, Incredible connection are still selling the relatively "new" SonyEricsson K800 for R4100...One thing I've noticed in the ad was that there doesn't seem to be an indication whether the phone is branded by . The much anticipated M600i should be widely available from next week on Vodacom.
