you misunderstood maia. read what Xajel wrote. the mobile sites news is also confusing. they call z1s the china z1... no rumor is 100% accurate, but z1s as the z1 successor is logical for announcement in less then half a year of the previous announcement. that way z1 users are not pissed off.

Well I think we misunderstood each other
I thought you were saying that Z1s and Z2 were the same device. Therefore I stated Z1s will not be Z2.

I guess we can all agree that we all agree

NEW RUMORS!! WE NEED NEW RUMORS!!
Hurry up leaks

Amazing

Honestly after I read this article today
http://www.gsmarena.com/ubunt[....]_phone_next_year-news-7348.php

I am approximately sure it will be the 2H2014 flagship
I told you guys before from March or even February, that they was testing Ubuntu inline with Android to choose which will be better, as I told you before also, that if they choose the Ubuntu, it will be only for the 5 " flagship phone, not the mini and not the ultra

Which will be (mini, ultra) still with Android
So the mini and the ultra will always be android as the mid and low range
But the only flagship that will not be android is the one in the 5" range, not the 6" range, and not the 4" range

I hope they don't... While Ubuntu is nice and good... Android is in another league... they can make midrange phone, or multiple copies of high-end ( 3 versions: Xperia Z2 + Sony Z2 Google Play Edition & Xperia Z2 Ubuntu Edition )

Just some high specs pulled from the FCC documentation:

It supports GSM 850/900/1800/1900MHz bands, WCDMA FDD band 1/2/4/5/8 and LTE
FDD bands 1/2/3/4/5/7/8/20. It supports GPRS service with multi-slots class 33 and EGPRS
service with multi-slots class 33. The HSDPA and HSUPA features are also supported.
It has MP3, camera, USB memory, Mobile High-Definition Link (MHL), FM radio, GPS receiver,
NFC, Bluetooth (EDR and Bluetooth 4.0), ANT+, WLAN (802.11 a/ac/b/g/n) and Wi-Fi hotspot
functions. For WLAN 802.11n, it supports 20MHz bandwidth on 2.4GHz band and 20MHz/40MHz
bandwidths on 5GHz/5.8GHz band. For WLAN 802.11 ac, it supports 20MHz/40MHz/80MHz
bandwidths.

@maiaramdan That would be good news. If that's true, I may actually replace my Z1 with it, providing that it retains the waterproof/Dustproof ability and good camera module. If Qualcomm has their 64 bit processor ready by then, and Sony uses it with a minimum of 4GB of ram and 32gb of internal storage along with a MicroSD slot, that would seriously be a cherry on the top.

@Xajel I don't see anything wrong with using Ubuntu for their high end providing that they can sideload all Android apps and run them without any problems. The beauty of Ubuntu is that you can run it as a desktop computer just by plugging it into a larger monitor. The ability to run apps from other OS is just epic, assuming that everything works properly. Basically Ubuntu is a full fledge workstation OS with a mobile and desktop UI. Imagine the things you can do with an Ubuntu phone provided that the specs are high enough! Good example, steam is moving towards linux, imagine running all your games from steam on your phone!

new leaked info: http://www.phonearena.com/new[....]s-CES-2014-event-leaks_id50292
Z1 mini and wi-fi only version of the Z Ultra. announcements at CES. Z1 successor codenamed Sirius. announcement "might debut at MWC". more info here: http://www.androidauthority.com/asus-sony-ces-events-324002/ seems like the new no leak policy of sony works pretty good, we're very close to CES and almost no image leaks, just a few rumors. pretty amazing for sony, don't you think?

That's good news. Eagerly waiting on the mini US release. My X10a is soooo slow.

According to RBMen, Sony’s next flagship, codenamed Sirius, might actually debut at MWC in late February.

Dreams...

13MPx 2/3" - Global Shutter (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nguv9lOkmXI) - BSI CMOS Sensor - Analog NR Memory - 12 bit - 1080p @ 120fps - 4K @ 24/25fps - f1.4 G Lens
4GB 2300MHz DDR3
256GB Storage (would be nice to have 4GB HMC standalone for the OS only... so that storage could be as advertised)
μSDXC
5.4" 2K Screen (RGBW)
24/192 Audio Support (HiRes Audio as sony calls it, they have stickers for goodness sakes..)
BEZELESS (80+% Screen/Face)

Some of this is possible, while some is not (its actually all 100% possible just expensive..) but they must realize that there are parties willing to pay for it, if they would just put it out there every other year or so in limited quantities, it would sell, it doesnt need to be a market leader but a device that is just hyper strong in ALL categories no compromises. The thing is Sony sells about a million different TVs and cameras a year.. Where is the 'ES' model mobile device.. When Kaz said that the Z1 was the synergy of all their departments and 4K and HiRes Audio were HEAVILY pushed as THE features in 2 of their departments yet astoundingly missing from the device it rang very hollow, i hope that they can correct that oversight this coming year.

Well, it's more logical to announce the Z1 mini at CES and leave "Sirius" for MWC. Z1 started selling officially in my country just a month ago...(!) Sirius at MWC.
