The Satio has better video-recording? I'd like to see some examples that confirms that.

Well offcourse Satio records better,it's a Multimedia Smartphone, with a powerful graphics/video accelerator capable of or almost capable of HD video. Isn't Aino based on some mediocre ARM9 CPU? It's probably Aino's hardware that's holding it back, atleast that's what im assuming, maybe i am wrong.

I think there are other picture examples online already, so I didn't spend any time taking pictures.

Those do look better indeed yes. Hmm.... and even the filenaming seems to be exactly what I prefer; yyyymmdd000.mp4

But I just don't want a touch-only phone. I want those buttons, so I don't think I'll go for Satio. But my next phone will probably be an Android device that has great sound and video-recording options, maybe try out the Samsung Galaxy, although I realize that's a touch-only device as well.....

I'm kinda in a similar boat as mr_lou.

I debating between the HTC Hero or the Aino. I want to check out an android phone, but at the same time, I'm a little intrigued in owning a nice TS phone but with a keypad (I'm used to one handed texting with T9 on SE's).

Haha, same! I will probably go for the Satio, the aino isnt worth the cost when the Hero costs less.

"The quality of the videos is really great with almost unmatched amount of resolved detail, very good contrast and precise colors. While the HD capabilities of the Samsung Omnia HD still remain unsurpassed, the Satio is definitely among the top contenders for the world title in the VGA category (once they sort out the nagging framerate issue)."

I got the HTC Dream, which is kinda the same as the Magic. I don't know about Hero though, but Dream doesn't have VGA video recording. Does Hero have VGA recording?

So far I think Aino is the best option for me. If I have to leave the great sound-playback quality of SE phones, it'll have to be for some really good video-recording options. If there'll ever be an Android device with numeric buttons, fairly fast SMS app, good video-recording and a decent mp3 player, then I'll go for that.

Aino isn't THAT bad... I just expected more. But I actually also expected more trouble with the first firmware. A little bit surprised I haven't stumbled into more issues when using the phone. Everything seems fast and smooth. Only VGA recording disappoints me, and I think USB-flash mount is defect, because it's not working for me properly on Windows or Linux.

SE must fix that issue along with the JavaME stuff and headset-noise mentioned, and if possible improve the video-recording. Hopefully next firmware will do some of that.

Next firmware? I've heard that before. I try to stay cool while reading, and it's still my next phone. Great sound, good pics and nice vids. Enough for me. Thanks for all info. Now all I have to do is wait for a call.

Is there something wrong with the phone? Why do you want to wait for latter production models? Please post your views so that potential buyers like us can decide.

not much wrong with it. build was good. apart from a very slight movement in slider. only when it was open and you pushed down on it. this would be sorted in later production models id say. though im not sure if all are the same currently.

ui was fast. though had some very very slight lag when in media app. nothing major. and im curious to see what these future firmware updates bring.

The February updates are usually the major ones and by then the production quality is usually better, but saying that, I'm only in China for a coule more days and I can pick up an Aino for 300 here.. I'm torn.
