The just goes to show that Political and religious threads can be discussed respectfully and in a civilised way...I would like nothing more than a seperate place for these topics so we can end these kind of debates for good about if or not these discussion should be allowed or not.

Yes but the Bush haters thread is a bad example

As I said before the consensus seems to be that we should have a seperate political/religious forum. Is there anyone who significantly opposes this idea?

I'm not sure I oppose the idea, it's just I see politics and religion as an integral part of life and not something to be seperated off.

Integral part of life? Are you wanting a bloody reaction mate, havent you realised.
DEATH is an integral part of life. Birth, bloody milk, but that isnt discussed here! Its a mobile phone forum, of course we must adapt to the community but i dont see any point in having George Bush and Islam threads amongst things like Football or phones.
sorry, im a bit tired and stressed at the moment. make up your mind.

Why is that then?...their are millions of people around the world who do indeed hate bush for his policies...so why can't we all have a reasoned debate as to why we all hate him?

Because it wasnt a debate. If anyone said anything otherwise you would bring up a photoshopped picture of Bush doing something stupid etc. etc.
It was biased, I am sorry, very very biased, and also quite rude. The majority of the American public voted for him, so he has a right to be president. Anyways, lets not get off topic. We need a dedicated space.

Its a tricky one.
Esato is about mobiles and the forum should reflect that.
But I have had a few laughs here and there which do add to the community spirit.
If someone wants to talk politics or football or religion or just plain garbage then they should join a forum to cater for this.
Or talk about it where the forum allows (such as Esato) and have it policed by admins and mods, thats what they are there for. I feel there is nothing wrong in a mod deleting content without reason!
It can be done very easily.
Its quite tough for laffen (or any board admin) to decide on what topics people should be allowed to talk about. After all, he could discard all other sections and just have the mobile related sections, which would be easier to "police"
I think we should all go by what Laffen wants.
It's his website, his discussion forum. He's the boss, so as users, we all have to go along with wnat laffen chooses. Like it or not. |

Well threads can go either way ...sometimes theirs a debate and sometimes nothing,and in that case we find other ways to keep the thread going...Their is no need for me to bring photoshopped pics of bush i can get plenty of real pics of him doing stupid things!...but as the thread states its a bush haters thread so we will do what ever it takes to make him look bad...i don't see how it is rude?..Bush did'nt win an overall majority,.he only won by 3% of votes which makes america almost split.....But as you said lets not get off topic!...A dedicated thread would allow for threads Such as the Bush thread and the London Tube Bombing and general world politics...People who genuinly have an interest can then participate.

Ok chaps let's stay focused here, shall we?
@wapchimp
Good points there old boy.
Perhaps it is time we heard from one of the moderator son what they have made of this thread so far?

I don't think there was anything inflamitory in what I suggested and that certainly wasn't my intention. Looks like I got one all the same.

You're right. I vote we should ban all sports threads.

S'okay. I tend to avoid contentious threads when I'm stressed as I can get over-excited.

@absin & axxxr
Perhaps you should create a new thread if you would liek to discuss that since this thread concerns political/religious threads?

I think I was trying to make the point that there's a lot on Esato that I find tiresome and inappropriate but I realise other members have interests different from mine.
I guess I'm advocating a "live and let live" policy.

scotsboyuk i am quite aware of that..I thought sports was a non-mobile related topic?...And Vanquish mentioned we should'nt be discussing sports alongside Politics and Religion amongst other things..But Absinth is correct in saying that we should promote a live and let live policy...I have also mentioned in my previous posts that for some like myself this the only forum that i use,and i like the fact that alongside My main interest which of course you know is (which binds us all here) i also like the fact that we can discuss non-mobile related topics here..and that the difference which i love.
