I disagree, it looks like a phone.
If it looked like a toy I could combine it with 4 other phones and make a large transformer phone robot. Or optimus prime.
I never minded the look of the S700i, So series or the W31s (i think, which is what this seems to resemble more)
The size was an issue though.

why is it that when everyone saw the SO505i everyone said it was cool and wished it was a GSM phone but when comes up with a similar looking phone on GSM, a lot of people start crying crap, toy, cheap, plastic, etc?

@swipe, I loved the S700 but I hate the S800.
Look at the S05050's design and it's later models, Much nicer.

To tell you the truth I don't mind the colour. The S700 was never really about understatement, it was more about grabbing your attention. Even with the phone closed it looked very differrent from most other phones on the shelves.
Also, a top end phone from is not about understatement, its rather about making a statement so I would not be surprised if this was one of the production colours.
(If the colour puts people off then it won't sell and the price will come down making more cheaper for me )
As for the design, well you can tell it is a reworking of the current S700i - the position of the keypad buttons is the same and the rubbing plate below the Quickshare Sticker is borrowed directly from the old S.
Dedicated music buttons might also indicate that this is fw adaptation of the K750i/W800 - maybe its a S850i - not S800i!!!!
As seen on www.se-nse.com, this phone is rumoured to have a 3.2mp cam and MS Duo Pro support.
Definitely a big hitter!
I like it. Its certainly different.

I like the style. What turned me off initially was the color.
Is it me? or is this screen smaller than the S700?

I would imagine it to be the same size. There is no need to change the screen size when the same S700 layout has been used. Are there no pics of the camera side?

@runab0ut
NOW, THAT LOOKS HOT !!! the background brings out the silver color as well. Also, the green button originally on the right, is now black.
What a DIFFERENCE !!! Great Job !!! Can I see a metalic or Aluminum black appearance ?

imho this is not a successor to s700, maybe a w800i or better w900 as we already have a w800, i except a little different design from s800, surely without the music button and not with these walkman colours... yellow....
and as we saw from w800i and k750 andd from s600 and w600, the hardware is probably going to be the same.... (if it has a memory card)
a little sad to see normal se ui but that was to epect anyway, we will probably see uiq3 in a new series..... |

That phone looks amazing now with a colour job. Id definitely buy it... If it had some good specifications like: 2-5mp, 3g, Bluetooth, IR, a microdrive, video player... etc.....

This phone is amazing!! Not so good in yellow, but I'm liking the design! Just hoping that its physically smaller than the S700, keypad could be a bit more interesting, but heres the deal.... 3G=quality video n pix on largest 3G phone screen! This phone is immense!!! When is this coming out? Looks like I.ll have 2 delay getting the K750.... What do you all think? Cheers

@SE-rules
Now we will finally have the pleasure of 3G speeds on that brilliant screen. Like REO and his S710 and EDGE.
Cool. Can't wait. Imagine Video calls on a screen that size! Amazing! _________________ LF: Vaio Laptop, preferably with BT.
