Should have read this thread before I contacted O2! though the deal I got isnt too bad
Was on:
O2 Leisuretime Plus for £16 P/Mth (£20 minus a £4 loyalty discount) This included: 500 Offpeak Mins to O2/Landlines, 50 Offpeak Mins Xnet and 100 free txts
Got:
K750I for £29.99, extra £5 discount P/Mth (i.e now £11 P/Mth), same free calls as above plus had the option of either a free bluetooth headset or an extra 200 txts Per Mth
Tried to haggle for both the headset and txts but he wouldnt give in so I took the free txts lol
Work mon 2 fri with a phone in work so dont normally make any peak time calls anyway.
Happy enough with the deal I got Looking forward to the phone arriving! |

Hi everyone, great to see people haggling money out of 02, I was just wondering that if I am signing up for the first time whether I will be able to get such a good deal? as I won't be put in contact with the rentention dept and haven't earnt a loyalty discount.
The things I want most are at least 300 texts with the phone being a low price as well as around £15/m.
Thanks in advance,

yup you were right, cheerz m8cky.
@Frank - its risky but you could always take out a contract and then ask to cancel it within the first 14 days because 3 are offering you a better deal, I wonder if they would offer you a just as decent deal in that scenario!

@hakenvisual Well that's what Im lookin for! A deal like yours. I have the Select 500 so maybe I can at least get some free texts out of Orange and most importantly a free K750!! (unless they get hold of the W800 any time soon... ie by Aug!) |

I guess that would probably work as it is UK law to have a 2 week cooling off period where you can cancel, so I wouldn't lose anything if they didn't offer any improvements, anyone got a view on this or any other ideas? |

I agree with Sunj, why don't you try the 14 day cancel thingy as you have nothing to lose!!
If you do, please post back your findings and I'd be very interested to see if it works!

Ok cheers for the advice, 2 extra points first, i'm still 17 so do I have to wait the 2 weeks until I am 18 to have a contract? and I only have a visa electron, can I pay through that or direct debit through my current account?
Thanks again,

@Frank - you have to be 18 to take out your own contract. Regarding payment you can pay your monthly bill via direct debit, in fact if you don't there is usually a surcharge I think.
@786KBR - that is a very good deal if you are going to use up that 50mb data because that is what has made your line rental so expensive. However if you need all that, it is worth it because in UK on O2 data costs £2/mb I think!

@sun
50 megs here cost roughly 7.5 pounds...
still worth it, our SPs are being scrutinised by the S.African Communication bourd saying its tarrifs are too expensive.
is it? |

I just rang up for my m8 hes now gettin 250 xnet minute and 500 text for £15 better than mine lol, they said there giving him discount 100 for £10 and a 400 text bolt on for £5 which make it to 250 xnet minute and 500 text for £15 which is pretty good.
She first said i could only give you 250 minute and 100 text for £15 but i said i use alot more text can you not give my 200 minute and 500 text for £15, then she said we can offer you 250 xnet minute and 500 texts! result!

Hope they are still doing something similar in september when my contract runs out! Not that i need a new phone my P910 is still going strong. I guess i could just sell whatever phone they give you. But all that for £15 a month isnt bad! |
