If the shops have the phones in stock they should be made by the manufacturers to sell them to whoever wants them, not just to the highest bidder so to speak!

Following on from my annoyance about CPW's refusal to sell the k750i sim free, was in Cardiff today and noticed the O2 store had all the stuff for the W800i in the window. Strolled in and looked at the display model...really liked the look of it (it's a real 'marmite' phone) and noticed it was marked up at £299.99 sim free...not bad at all me thinks what with the 512 card.
I asked the chap if he had any in stock...3 left and going fast. He went to get a 'live' phone and came back and showed me all the features and let me have a good play. He even insisted I stick the earphones right down into my lugs 'for full effect'...nice present for someone I thought, my ear wax. Anyway, sold...£300 and this puppy was mine. Oh no sorry sir, 'I can't sell this phone sim free, contract only'. How bloody annoying, the phone is advertised sim free, the phone is in stock yet they refuse to sell it...bloody bastards. Well annoyed as wasted 20 mins of my time but at least I had a good hands on with the phone. Should have asked the cheeky gits for my ear wax back!!

Can you not get in touch with O2 of even Sony and tell them what is going on? Or even trading standards, I am sure they would be interested!!! It seems at the moment they all get away with whatever they want with no comeback:(

My local retailer is selling the K750i off contract with Orange for £200. Thats what I paid & £40 for a 512MB card. £240 in total....good deal! Orange branding (just icons really) is not that bad for the amount of cash I've saved.

I got mine for £180 from e2save (12-month Orange contract @ £15/month by redemption). Then paid £4.50 to debrand it using DaVinci

Cheers

Mobile Fun now have it up as 7-14 days before they ship the K750.
Just worked out that from Mobile Fun you can get the phone and a 1gb memory card and shipping and £10 call voucher for £282. Not bad.

http://www.onestopphoneshop.co.uk have some good deals on Orange. One of them works out at £154 over 12 months...(via cash back). Not sure I'd trust Onestopphoneshop though!

I would be a little dubious of buying from the USA anyway, in case it got stopped coming through customs and then slapped with VAT on top of what you have already paid. Mobile fun is definately the cheapest so far, when they get them in.
