My girlfriend and I both got our K750i phones last friday (24th June) as an updrage to our 02 accounts.

I had wanted one since I heard about them a few months back. However, the 02 shop would not sell them to us because of the number of people who had been returning them with the stand-by crash problem.

After finally getting my hands on one, I have to say that I am very impressed. I am a long time Nokia user but have been getting more and more anoyed with them with each phone.

Deffinatly glad I finally made the switch.

However, I am one of the unfortunate few to have one of the handsets that has the stand by crash problem

I spent all day friday charging the phone then adding my contacts etc. On saturday the phone crashed at least 6-7 times through out the day and turned itself off once.

Wasnt quite so bad on sunday, but still crashed 2-3 times. And when I woke up this morning the clock still said 04:10 am (the time was actually 08:20 ... and I'd over-slept bcause I use my phone as my alarm!) and none of the keys would wake the phone.

I've done a master reset today and I've sent a message to SE via their support dept on the website. Fingers crossed it will be ok, otherwise it will have to go back tomorrow.

The funny thing is that my girlfriends phone has not suffered at all from this problem as of yet (touch wood!) and they are both 05 week 21 phones.

Has anybody else suffered from this problem? And if so, did they find a cure or was it just a case of getting a replacement?

I tried to do the firmware update btw, but it said this was not available for my network as they do not allow it

Otherwise ... best phone I have had thus far.

"upgraded" from an S700i... damn I missed the candybar form factor

faster than the K700i (don't even compare it with the sluggish S700i), the camera is freakin' unbelievable even in low light conditions where the the S700i and K700i would produce more noise than the actual image.

Now this phone I can keep for a year (even more, depending on how good the next SE phones will be).

I'm Extremely happy with mine too. I think the people who are having problems dont know sony ericsson very well. They are used to their useless nokia and siemens phones. I've always been impressed with the latest handsets ericsson has to offer, they are always so far ahead of the competition.

Cheers

I think thats slightly unfair in some cases. As I stated above, I am VERY happy with my K750i and will probably stick with SE over Nokia in the future.

However, the fact is, it doesnt matter if I am a age old SE user, or a regular Nokia user, there are faults with some K750i phones which make the handset more or less useless.

This is a fault with phone as apposed to not knowing how a SE handles.

but if its just people moaning that the usablilty of the phone is poor, then yes I probably agree with you

I didnt see whatall the fuss was about, but I got one anyway and I love the little bugger, even though the cheap ass typical sony "quickshare" sticker peeled off within a few days.

Why not have it imprinted in the plastic?
Anyway it looks just as good without the sticker anyway.

Very happy with it - only two problems with it, one being that I've had three k750i so far, from three different batches (week 17, week 19 and week 25) and all of them have the supposedly "rare" blurring problem on photos on the left side - in spite of the last one being replaced by SE themselves because of that exact problem.

But oh well, didn't buy this for excellent photos, really

Also, it amazes me how phones that are 4-5 years old have about twice as much speaker volume on calls as the latest in mobiles...

Guess I'll live with it. Other than those two issues, it's great

I'm also very happy with it and use it now as a mp3 player instead of my iPod mini using a 1 Gig MSDP the RDS radio is also very good. The only downside is the blur on the left side of pics that a lot people seem to suffer from including me.

@Sergeic sad to hear that your new phone also suffers from the blur makes me think twice about geting mine fixed. Can we have some samples from it in the Pic thread .

i'm pleased with the K750 (05W24) i got. the only problem i can report thus far is it hanged while playing radio, but the radio keeps on playing. i can't turn it off, so i had to remove the battery. the problem has not manifested again.

I am very satisfied with my K750. No crashes at all, and the battery time is similar or better than my old T610. Great photos and easy to connect to my Linux laptop. [addsig]

Had a T300 and T610 before this K750i.

Very impressed, pretty stable now I upgraded to R1L.

Had some problems with the camera for a few weeks but sorted them by taking the phone apart.

Got it on an Orange Contract and used Davinci to debrand it.

Very happy overall.
