I must say I usually upgrade without the need.
I never found a single bug in my P910i, but I still upgraded every time the moment the update was out.
I think this time I will follow the rule --> If it works, DON'T fix it !!
I hope SE fixes all the problems fast, because we are all loosing the confidence in their professionalism!

Emailed SES in order to get answers to all my questions about that sh*t they do to us! Like MiniJACK in PXX0x, SEUS bugs, the need of Java & lack of supporting Firefox browser to work with their site, many more... Aghrr!

truth be told, I do find the lack of FireFox support rather embarassing. But hell, since they're not able to provide proper IE support, imagine what an update via Firefox would do to your phone... |

hmm the speed i think it has nothing to do with the new upgrade.
When you reflash you phone to new firmware you actually "reformated" the phone. Thats why you knotice speed increase same applied to pc and other device

I've updated my p910i (CDA162005/3) perfectly using Mozilla suite 1.8b with java2 5.0 update 3 without any hassles at home (windows xp servicepack 2).
And I've also updated a friends' p910i with my laptop (also CDA162005/3) which is running windows 2000 servicepack 4, Firefox 1.0 (I know there's a new one, 1.0.4, but I haven't had the time to install it yet) with the same java2 5.0 update 3 as my computer at home.
Maybe the difference is that I'm using my old p800's dss-20 synchstation instead of the dss-25, who can tell?
But my problem was the other way around, I couldn't get IE to work with microsoft vm so I downloaded Sun's Java vm and the Mozilla suite / Firefox. Now the update even works in IE on both computers but I still prefer Mozilla / Firefox to perform the update.

I'm using FireFox 1.0.4 on top of XP and there is no way to get passed the CDA screen because it does not allow you to type in the box (unless you copy/paste of course). Also, at some point FireFox sends you back to the support homepage.
It's good to know that you've succeeded, though. |

I used firefox 1.0.4 for my update. had to copy and paste into the box but everything else went fine from there. that is until i found out they had screwed up the firmware. |

@BITRU
You are right, but sometimes is exactly the opposite.
Upgrading can make the phone slower on some operations, because the programmers may have introduced extra checks to avoid some hard-to-catch bugs.

In two words that's what they've replied (I wrote to the Russian representatives so there's no English version of the letter):
- SEUS is in technical modification, will be avaliable soon (When exactly?!);
- there will be NO support for browsers like Firefox (Does this mean that we should use only Opera- and Internet Explorer- compatible browsers??? I hape this sh*t!)
- there will be NO new features in the newer versions of PC Suit and NO support for other mailing & calendar programs, just for Microsoft's & Lotus'.
Morons.

I just wanted to check if there is something new.. I get the following message:
*****************************************************
Your device is not supported
CDA162005/1 is not supported or you have entered an incorrect number.
If the number is correct it means that your operator does not approve usage of the service for this device. If the number is incorrect, click Previous and enter the right number.
*****************************************************
Also if I enter CDA162005/3, I get the same message....
What is SE doing now???
