BTW, why don't SE make such a luxury phone?

Imagine a steel (or whatever) P1000, I used to be a P series fan, after using all the PXXX I decided to get back to the 9500 Communicator. Because there is nothing new since the P800.

The only way to SE to have me back is a P1000, loaded with everything.

WiFi, proper keyboard, better screen and camera of course, LOOKS MUCH BETTER, not just a chromed camera, 3G or at least EDGE, BT 1.2 with stereo, better UI for gods sake even for UIQ, it is crap, take a look at Series 60 interface (OMG I love it ! ), the themes they are just lovley, not like the crappy UIQ themes, screen saver, why the heck it doesn't show if there is missed calls/sms's?, (I know there is 3rd party apps for this, but they all suck), USB port.... etc

Admit it guys, Nokia are miles ahead !

PS! I wish I'm SE's CEO or just work there, I'd make you all happier !

Yup a Metal "P1000" with some V3 design would be very nice!

Just a quick question, do you have to slide up the screen with your thumb using the metal mesh bit, or are their side triggers?

Have to say that after having had my Nokia 8800 for nearly 3 months now im still pleased with the build quality and the "newness" factor of the phone. Have not seen a single person with this phone yet that "I" have come accross.

It compliments my P910 perfectly, as I use the Nokia purely for voice calls with the excellent audi quality through "voice enhancement" and the feel and solid build of the phone.

Def a long term phone in my eyes.

Unfortunatley, you've got to hand it to Nokia for design, this looks like the dog's b****cks!!! I've got a K750 now . However, had this have had a 2MP cam, and 3G, well could you want for more?
Where phones like the 5110 and 3210 were icons of mobile development, the 8800 will go down as the style and functionality modle for years to come. Well done Nokia!!!

Try this if you dare!!!

They have released quite a few new accessories for the Nokia 8800 now, the pic of the bunch for me was the matching bluetooth headset as you can see here.

this was something, bluetooth or not, that I think should have come with, or be available for, the W800

I'm still waiting for the 8800 to get to a more sensible price level before getting one to check out

Mmm...
No memory card support but a built-in Mp3 player?
Not even a 2Mpix camera?
But does 'overpriced' means something during this days?
An Ericsson phone looked more classy years ago, without being that expensive, and technically it was the state of the art...
Sorry for having disturbed your discussion but I'm honestly finding it hard to find out a good reason to buy it, apart from the price itself, that will clearly show to everybody that I'm enough reach to waste my money!
Bye.

well... the only thing it has is design, and it should be that way as long as it is a luxurious phone... but why the design I so unfinished, unbeautiful and almost ugly?

@JiggyJaggy, yeah I remember the V3, for example, which I paid £370 for a month after it came out because I really really wanted it and within a couple of months it was under £300 and a couple more around £200.

I'm in no rush with this one and I know I will have one of these one day, but I know I don't want to pay £500+

V3 and its price drop was a planned action, on the other hand Nokia promised not to drop the price for 8800 as long as it is possible... by the way - 8910i costs more than black razr.... I can say - it sucks....

I dont think the 8800 price will drop anywhere near as fast as the V3 in price, its no where near as commercial.

Its not out on Tmobile and Orange for a start so thats 40% of the population "out" (roughly speaking).

Secondly it is still highly priced. You wont find many "new contract" phones which arent free these days.

The built quality on the other hand is outstanding. I dropped mine from my suit pocket, landed straight up as if it were standing on the conrete pavment, bounced! When I picked it up there was NOT ONE SCRATCH on it. Thats what I call build quality!

Was almost going to send a letter to Westminster Council to see if their pavment was ok! lol
