Hmmm. I probably would not want it covered all the time. The S710 looks so stealthy, it would take alot away from the phone.

I'm sure it protects the phone well. I'm pretty careful on how I handle my phone. the pouch works for me.

Hey thanks for the pic. : )

@batesie

Have you ever dropped it? These phones are slippery at times.

I will keep the non-working model, as it is brand new and will serve as a back up in the event I need parts. Atleast for the cosmetic parts. Such as cover lens, ect.....

Hey REO,
Dont suppose i could buy your non-working model ? even if you could sell me the silver bit and the shutter mechanism id be overjoyed. Lost a tiny spring when i was putting black case on and it hasnt been the same since. No worries if your not interested dude, your S710 looks awesome !

I love this phone. Do you know who has the best prices for 128 Duo sticks ?

I got 128 MB Duo from ebuyer for about £24 delivered. Not bad i thought.

Goldenface.

Im in the queue, behind you, mate. I dropped my phone a couple of weeks ago, and the front is scratched to buggery!

I keep going back to E-bay, and looking at those cheap covers. Cant bring myself to do it though!
If im going to dismantle this phone, I want it to look good after!

Also, if anyone sees the jog dial anywhere, Let me know, cos thats scratched too! Might be able to polish it out though.

Well I went to my local Voda store today to examine the dummy phone and - surprisingly enough - I could not tell if the casing was original or not.

I even tried to open the battery compartment which I found impossible - just like the original when new .

So anyway, I have ordered a black dummy phone from ebay and it is winging its way to me as we type so I will let you know what happens when it arrives. Although I must say, although I have quite good manual dexterity and love a challenge I don't relish having to put together this lot:

Imagine dropping your phone in the street and having it split into this many pieces

jeez that looks a laugh putting it back together. Would be fine if it wasn't my phone, would get very stressed if it was and wouldnt have the patience to fix it!

Well the Dummy phone arrived and it is useful for only some spare parts such as the silver buttons, keypad and surround. The glass is not scratch proof and the casing is not the same as the original.

Which saves me from tackling a replacement cover for the time being. (Phew!)

Looks like I will have to keep on searching.

Now that the S710a has been released in the USA and Canada, the OEM black housings should be available soon.
