check out the new Premini 2
http://www.sonyericsson.co.jp/product/docomo/premini2/index.html
,the features(minus the japanese stuff)looks very much like the 'CLARA' we have been hearing about,no?
different keys, sure, but the design and ideas seem familiar...?
Also producing designs that use a common internal structure are financially wise(look at NOKIA,oops!)
Anyone? |

Wow...I must say I would love that Premini-II in my hand...
But they do a good job hiding it with there fancy Japenese.
Found this pic...
They have it in Black, White, and "Brown" as they put it but it looks like an orange.
I like the black. looks the cleanest. And the Orange isnt 2nd. More stylish I guess. Plus 80% of my clothes are brown.. Plus my fav color and yea... Enough said. To many silver phones anyways..
Screen (Guess)

look at the side profile of the phone,it is very 'T6XXesque',showing the european styling not often found in Japanese handsets.
Could the 'premini style'product rumoured be this phone,or 'CLARA'be the same phone?,the'C' denoting a new "C"class of compact handset- for countrys outside of Japan..? |

No, Premini II can't be Clara. NTT Docomo holds the market in Japan. The phones even has Japanese letters on it so how would us English users use the phone? Also the picture of Clara shows clearly the buttons which doesn't have any Japanese letters encrypted. Clara might not a C series afterall since its only a code name. Isn't P910 called Layla? so there wouldn't be any L series ofcourse. Clara would hold maybe a similar series name but which it is we couldn't guess.
What I'm wondering is since many factors of Clara is similar to V800 and V800 might be release unbranded after Vodafone had a chance on it first. Clara afterall might be release the same time as the unbranded V800 since they both might be the new concept of SE. Like Nokia's 7260 7270 7280 that holds different form factor but same concept in exterior design.
If SE does hold this concept of putting Clara and V800 into the same release then I think it would be a popular release, since they both are just different form but similar specs. |

what I am saying is the underlying phone(under the japanese exterior-keys,characters etc.)The layout of the phone(size, shape,MSDUO slot placement, orientation of camera button, camera resolution, screen dimensions etc.) points to a european version of a handset I can see being launched.
Add bluetooth(still rare on japanese phones),remove felica contactless card features(not yet implemented outside of asia),and we can see a attractive handset within SE's line up for 2005.
I suggested-the VIOLA code name result- in my comment regarding 'CLARA' as a 'C'ompact phone, nothing more.
The 2 side buttons(at extreme left and right of soft keys)would be ommitted, but overall I can see a european phone hiding under a japanese 'premini'exterior.... |

If SE does decide to bring Premini(for GSM market) out, then without Bluetooth and Infared would be a killer since we then have to buy memory stick readers. Bluetooth and Infared is a needed item for high-end phones. If Premini is equipped with Bluetooth, infared, then its not much different than Clara then.
The real Clara haven't been fully revealed and the only thing we have is pictures that aren't official and hard to judge. For what we have right now about Clara, the design is similar to Premini. So now we just have to only WAIT & SEE. |
