When you take a picture (with the new camera s/w 3.10) in low light room, does the picture have that noise problem with the green and blue grains?
like this one!

The noise in low-light situations comes from trying to "gain up" the signal from the sensor and reflects the signal-to-noise ratio of the captured image. The way to reduce noise is to reduce signal--i.e., have a darker picture. I doubt any firmware revision is going to change the S/N ratio much. Of course, if I'm wrong I'd love to hear it, but... |

just compare a picture taken from a k700 with one taken from a sharp GX20 or a NOKIA 6310 or even from a mitshbishi M320i. The first one is the worst.
When you see the foto from the viewfinder before pressing the camera button, the picture is clear (with the expected reduced framerate). When you press it, sudently appears that noise!
It is clearly a s/w problem |

When using firmware upgrade via Davinci Server, does it delete all contacts etc (games, themes...) on your K700? |

@2samek
Hmm, I always do master reset before and after upgrade to clean everything out of my phone, but I think that yes all contacts, custom themes... will be deleted...
but it is easy to back up all of that using FMA for example...
@Grim
as i said before yes the delay issue is solved and also phonebook search is implemeted the way it should be... also I noticed again better battery life and I noticed many small improvements in speed and functionallity
@fu1at
I had the same issues like you have in R2L for a few days and suddenly it stoped and everything worked OK afterwards... try doing Mater Reset All... but backup your data (SMS, Contacts, Themes, Sounds, Pix...) before doing that |

Hello all, I'm new here. I never had any problems with my T39 before (except a DOA, I must confess), so I've never before stumbled upon Esato. Now, I have a K700i :)
Can anyone comment on the availability in the Netherlands, or maybe differences in release dates between countries?
I was at the local service centra (RAF) today. The guy there was very helpful, but told me the latest software he could get on EMMA was R2L. Any ideas how this can be? |

Does this new version resolves the calendar problems ?
(see details here: http://www.esato.com/board/viewtopic.php?topic=72466 )

R2AE033 is NOT available on SE Online Update yet. I have R2L001 and the update went through its whole process and I still have R2L001. |

vee,
i did a master reset right after the upgrade. nah... nothing serious.... probably the flash memory over loaded and cause the phone to reboot. coz before that i run heavy Java application without turning off the phone over night and make the flash memory overload.
cheers

Today I upgraded my K700i to latest firmware (R2AE, I had R2L) and overall impressions are very good!
The phone is much more faster (overall), phonebook search is working as it should, and I have no problems with voice dialing as someone mentioned earlyier!
Oh, and by the way, phone was upgraded via DaVinci server so now when I turn on silent mode, annoying camera sound is OFF
And the camera software is 3.10 and working OK...

I have just updated my K700i to the new R2AE033 via TOTAL MultiServer and it seems to be working fine (using version 1.46).
They have fixed the camera driver issue but no the camera silence. They told me they had fixed this by doing the following:
(do the following in the upgrade/language/debrand tab)
1. Download firmware and language via MultiServer
2. Select firmware file first and flash it to the phone
3. When it says done, do not disconnect the phone, just upload the language file
4. When completed, turn phone on and do a master reset
This was supposed to stop the camera shutter noise in silent mode but the noise is still there.
Everything else is working fine, menus are so fluid now, bluetooth seems more stable, contacts has search and of course the camera driver gets updated to 3.10 by following the instructions above.
At least MultiServer has it's arse in gear at last! |
