Only if they don't notice you playing on your mobile, it is illegal to turn them on once the engines are running. |

Yeah I know.. Nowadays I don't do that anymore because it's my own safety I am jeopardizing when turning on the mobile. I just listen to music on my Discman and sleep whenever I fly now... nothing more

It always used to annoy me when airlines said you can't use a personal cd player, but you can use a laptop... given that 95% of laptops have a cd player in them!
I do appreciate that it's a safety issue, just seems like if you're in a business suit with your laptop that's okay, but if you're in a tshirt with a gameboy it probably isn't.
Regardless, glad the P800 has radio free mode, that way it won't do the huge battery suck trying to get a signal when I am stuck on the underground trying to amuse myself |

Hehe
I'm in london, not exactly known for cutting edge technology....
One thing about the london underground though is that it is a lot further underground than most, which is one (but only one) reason why there is no mobile reception there.
The number of times I've wished I could just use WAP when on the underground...well it is kind of annoying. I usually end up playing tennis via bt with the gf... and she usually beats me too |

They had a vote in the Metro news paper a while ago to see if people wanted to be able to use mobiles on the tube, and the majority vote was for no mobiles, I though that was quite strange for London, I mean look at how many people walk around with them stuck to their heads. It's only airline policy for anything except cell phones, game boys have been known to cause interference but not very often. I read in a Boeing Service Letter that they always try to buy the machine that has caused interference so they can test it themselves. Usually it doesn't give any problems, he he, but the phones are theworst, just listen to noise it makes on a nearby stereo speaker when you're on the phone. |
