this topic is jus like any other!! while they post a topic intended for a reason...they get into an arguement!! basically an SE fan would support the K700i while a nokia fan would support the 6230!! well the K700i cam is sharper and does tend to have a lot of noise in the dark while the 6230 has a blurry cam and nothing appears in the viewfinder in the dark!! but with the added features of an LED light in the k7 it turns out pretty good in the dark

@aquila. i have to agree with you bout the night mode....but in the k700 its not the night mode thats bad rather that it has too much noise. they jus have to perfect the censor! but by sayin this i dont mean that 6230 has no noise jus that its more in the k700...but phone cams are'nt indended for night use anyway!

I've had r600, t200, t68i and t630. I've seen k700i too! It sucks! They are too slow! They have 'cool' menus with lot of fuctions and that way they make slow phones! I am happy to have 6230 and i would not change it for anything! Forgot about edge? 6230 is a phone for professionals! K700i is for kids! U can put videos on mmc too! If you want 3d games just buy a console! 6230 has as much 3d as k700 has! I've had a 3d game made of a friend of mine! About the camera, what good are colours if the k700i's photos are full of noise? On 6230 u can modify the contrast! I was once a se fan. ONCE! Nokia rulez! SE still earns my respect with p series!

I just took those yesterday...

I think that the 6230 is a bit better than the k700, and the video-recording of k700 just sucks... I was about to change my 6230 to k700, but now I really don't know...

We've allready established many times before that the 6230 takes better pictures in poor lightingconditions - while the k700 takes the best pictures under optimum lightingconditions. All your pictures do, is confirm that - which is no surprise.

About videorecording - you are talking nonsense - the nokia 6230 records video at maximum resolution of 128x96 at 12fps and max 4minuttes - the K700 records video at resolution 176x144 at 15fps and up to 40 minuttes (or up to available memory) and quality is as fine as can be expected - after all its not a professional DV videocam.

Poor quality of pictures or video - are more often caused by a poor photographer than by a poor camera.

heres an example of K700 videocamrecording - if you feel your nokia can do better - then please post an example.

http://spawnweb.dk/vids/klip2.3gp

Furthermore when it comes to playback of video - the nokia only play video at 128x96 pixels 12fps with very very poor AMR audio and max total bitrate of 90kbit/s - while the K700 can play video at 176x144 pixels 15fps with highquality AAC stereroaudio and max total bitrate of 160kbit/s which makes for instance musicvideos (and everything else) alot more interesting on K700 than on 6230

compare these 2 examples of how video looks and sounds on nokia vs k700

K700 simply trashes the 6230 in this department - I wouldent waste a second watching any video in 6230 quality

@therealspawn
come on, 160kbps max for the video playback isn't enough, buddy. the k700i can play any mp4 videos in the bitrate of more than 520kbps. LOL. 6230 is far far far worse.

anyway, can i add?
video recording in 6230 is not good since the sounds recorded isn't as cleared as k700i. k700i records sounds in a video so well..

bout the camera, i would say that 6230 is without any doubt better than any k700i when taking pictures in incandescent mode or in a place with low light condition. yes, it's blurry but still better than any k700i taken pics. but, when you go outdoor, in some good lightning condition, k700i will take pics LOT better than any 6230. trust me.. it's sharper and more colorful.

If people just take the time to really read the contents of a thread, we wouldn't have to keep repeating these same arguments over and over.
resistance is futile.

About nokia..i have used phones which were equiped with VGA to 1 megapixel cameras but they all SUCK bcos the pic is blury and the colours in the photo taken by nokia camera phones dont match the subject!

But K700i has an overall excellent camera bcos it takes sharp and colourful images with proper lighting. For me the most important thing I look for in a camera is how sharp it takes the photo and the pic has to have the exact colours of the subject. Btw people always dont take pics in the night! Even though the nokia do better in night shot the biggest prob is in daylight the images are crap...

The point is we take photos mostly in good lighting and if those photos are not good whats the point in having a phone that takes only good pics in the night.

K700i is LOT better.

I have to say the best camera phone nokia has ever done so far is 6630..I just checked the sample shots and they are sharp and colourful..thats the first time both those qualities came in a Nokia phone.

It seems that(almost) everybody in this forum are "die-hard" Sony Ericsson followers so it seems hard to get an objective view on this...

On the pictures I took with the Sony Ericsson K700i (that I borrowed from a friend), it seems that the jpg-compression is much higher and and the pictures is about half the byte size than the ones of the Nokia. Maybe the jpg-compression can be set on the k700, thus making images with higher quality possible.

Maybe I should add that I am _not_ a Nokia nor SE hardcore person, I just want the best available camera in my next Phone...
