If all else fails, DEBRAND!. T28 cable arrived and multiserver only bloody works.

No more forcefeeding of O2 customisation and up to date with R2AA003. Did cost tho but least I don't need to battle with the morons at O2 anymore!

There's a couple of problems with that mate...

a) I don't want to spend money on something I should get for nothing, and
b) O2 / SE know about the debranding and will invalidate any warrenty against any fiddled phones.

most people on O2 contract are likely to have insurance anyway though, so warrenty shouldn't be needed. Probably not recommended to debrande if you don't have insurance.

Insurance, are you mad, throwing good money after bad that is

rather pay a one off £12 quid and get an upgradable phone than a whole years worth of insurance i'll never claim against

I know which will cost less in the long run!

if people are careless enough to let such unfortunate things happen to them i guess.

All the best guides to mobile insurance say if you've never had a need for it and take care of your phone the advice is don't pay for it.

If you are the kind of person prone to losing your phone or dropping it down the loo you will almost certainly need some form of cover.

On the other hand, if you have never lost your phone it may well be unnecessary, especially when coupled with simple precautions, such as always using a security code to lock the mobile when unused.

Carelessness costs money I believe!

Hi
So with loads of us emailing O2, has anyone heard anything positive back yet? I would have thought if they are actually going to pull their finger out and do it they would have done by now. Not looking good is it really I for one will definately be moving contracts if this ain't sorted soon.

I haven't heard anything back from O2 for a couple of weeks now. I emailed Tommy Stubbs again yesterday asking for an update, but no reply as yet.

Just had the following reply from O2:

Quote:

Hi,

I raised this last week with the o2 products team who have raised the issue with Sony Ericsson. They are obviously now aware of the issue and have made me aware there is another operator also affected although I’m unsure which one.

I have chased an update today with the o2 products team but as yet I have no firm timescales as to when this will be fully operational. It is in hand with both parties to find the cause of the issue and consequently find a fix.

I understand the urgency to get the software upgrade due to the problems that you have experienced with the device and I will keep you updated as and when I have further information.

Kind Regards

Tommy Stubbs

We should all put a few pennies in a pot to buy Tommy some Roses to say "thank you very much" as he's the only guy at O2 who knows what he's doing!
