Online K700 Firmware update service available |
JonStatt Joined: Feb 02, 2003 Posts: 48 PM |
I uninstalled all my old P900 stuff. Then I installed the K700 CD stuff. The only phone monitor com port I have enabled is com3 which corresponds to the bluetooth serial port.
I don't think there is any other magic trick! Of course I cannot update anyway, but it does find the phone and switch it off for me, very useful |

I never use the software on the supplied disc, I just grab it from the support site as often it is a later version (indeed they just updated it last week too)
then I did as I described to switch between P900 and K700 using the sync station
sorry I can't be of more help

I don't have my sync station with me but I got past downloading and installing the Sony Ericsson Update Service software before it complained so your problem is most certainly unrelated to the sync station

Well it checked out my phone after telling me it couldn't find a sync station, and then informs me that my operator doesn't support this service at this time? Hopefully that means Orange uk just haven't realeased the update service yet?? I HOPE!

The reason why it don't work yet is simple. I talked to my coustomer service today. And they told me that this service is not finished with seting it up. Its only half released.
Thats why you all get "Unknown error."
It will be released this month the told med at SE sales service..

So If I running win 2000 with sp2 , does that means I can't upgrade the phone myself ? On the site, it claimed sp3 for win 2000 is required. So how can I upgrade my win2000 to sp3??? Anyone? Thanks !

@SIR-Sonyericsson-man
Could it be that simple that they (SE) hasnīt put all avaliable variants of the FW on the server yet?
I remember when i upgraded my P900 (Telia Go branded) i had a faint hope that the upgrade would remove the branding * Yeah-he-he-ah right* Later I spoke to a friend in Lund (Ericsson employee) and he said that every flavor of firmware eg. Vodafone, Telia whatever has its own checksum so it is not possible to flash a Vodafone Live phone with generic FW...
