I can't explain the big bang theory too well, as I don't really tend to read too much into it, I just accept the basics, as for the membrane theory, are you sure?

OK, the general gist of it, is that our universe is contained within a membrane a relatively thin, flat shaped object, a tad like this:
|||||
|| ||
|| ||
|| ||
|| ||
|| ||
|||||
The membrane theory, (which is quite closely linked with string theory) is that there are a number of universes, each of them contained within a separate membrane alongside each other:
||||| ||||| ||||| etc.
|| || || || || ||
|| || || || || ||
|| || || || || ||
|| || || || || ||
|| || || || || ||
||||| ||||| |||||
Now the membrane theory 'solves' the problem of the big bang, that is, "What could cause the big bang if there was nothing to start with?" The answer would be an outside intereference, there is a big bang of energy in one of the adjacent membranes, and this transfers energy to our universe out of seemingly nowhere, this is the idea for where the Big Bang energy came from. The only real problem with this theory, is that it leads us to the same problem with the Big Bang, that the beginning cannot be seen, as what would cause the big bang in the adjacent universe. (though this is solved in several theology arguments with the existence of God)
Now that was fun, not particularly detailed, but a good outline of the ideas.

One thing about Islam, we follow the Qu'ran. No matter where u are, what race u are white, black, chinese, indian, malay etc.. we follow the same exact copy of the Qu'ran. You cannot find any Qu'ran with any more or less words/chapters. Thus what I've learnt is what all the other Islam have learnt, so its universal. The main point is, wether one wants to practise it or not.
Heres a thought, Im an Islam, but Im willing to dicuss and share rather then rebel about my religion or critise other religion. Im here posting with peace, I hope i didnt offended anyone.. it all goes down to ones heart. And i can sense we all here posting in peace, this is how it shud be. Religion is evil? anything evil in here?
The act of terror and death is not the practise of Islam, obviously its not a practise in any religion. Its these rebelious people that use religion as an excuse for their own purpose or out of anger.
You said (hence the shahhada "and mohammad is the messenger of god") that is correct! But during Jesus time, Jesus is the messenger of god. During Moses, he is the messenger of god. It is the time of Mohammad, then he is the messenger and the last messenger of god.

I was in an R.E. Discussion class the other day, and my teacher started to explain the history of the Catholic Church. Apparently Catholicism has it's roots in Judaism and Islam, which I thought was quite interesting, as, despite practices such as mass and writings differ the core ideals and ways of life are very similar.

I certainly don't believe in god,and imo,anyone that does is living in a realm of fiction.Religion is merely "man made bullshit",and religion is the root of war(aswell as money of course)

i'm not religious myself. but i'm always wondering about how the universe came to be, the purpose of life, etc.
maybe the universe is 'alive' and life (as we know it) is it's way of becoming conscious of itself... sort of like how simple organisms, over millions of years, adapted to grow legs, eyes, brains.. just a thought!
of course we could speculate all day about the big bang, a creator, etc., but until someone travels outside of our universe or builds a time machine we'll never know. |

@k700nut Can I ask you a question, and I am 100% certain you have said this or probably say it quite a bit... " Oh My God.." or "For God's sake..." now I am hoping you going to give an honest answer to this question. |

@themarquee...Yes,i've often printed or said 'for gods sake'...But only in the presence of minors or msg boards such as present.It's a common phrase,and that's the only reason i occasionally use it.I much prefer to use 'for fu..s sake or equivalent,but that's inappropriate etiquette in the presence of strangers.I still stand by my beliefs though....But if people wish to believe in religious nonsense,i'll take a back seat.I suppose it gives them an ongoing dream!

Im a communist so Im not religis, kidding. The thing is that I dont know how the universe created but I know how is God created, becouse of the unknowing of lot of things. As time pass and people know more and more about everything they will belive less and less in God. But i belive in something else and that is a beliving of billion of people and I perspect that power.

@ k700nut It suprises me when people that say they are not religious and then say things like "Oh My God".... I believe deep down in everyone they have a belief and though you may choose to portray they "non-believer attitude" to the outside world..in natural fact you might subconsciously be calling out for a belief..probably GOD probably someone else.
So the question begs to differ why if you dont believe in something use the name....I know you talk about the presence of kids and not wanting to use vulgar language..so why not use "For Satans sake" (ryhms)...or something else...why do u feel the need to cry out to GOD? |
