i need a new phone, getting bored with my E700 and 3650....missing my T610
if i get a phone on Orange, where can i get it unlocked? and also can all the customizations be removed, as to turn it in to a sim free model?

Three months seem more than fair really, as long as that's all it is I'm happy as I just don't want to get stuck on the same tariff all year. Slightly off topic, but does anyone know what the deal is with the free 400 text add on? The saleseperson didn't really explain it to me, just said it was free so that was fine with me! It looks like 400sms which is quite cool if it is fre I've heard it's possible to use these for MMS by using up more of the inclusive sms, anyone know if this is true?

The Nokia 6230 is out Q1 2004, small handset with MMC and mp3 player etc which looks as if it might be good, although knowing Nokia there will be something to drag it down completely, haven't been interested in Nokias at all for a while now.

@john - the 400 txt bolt on can be used for mms too. 1 credit is used for a txt whereas 4 credits are used for a mms. It works out very cheap with mms being only 16p. I think to have to ask o2 to activate it though. Just to make sure you dont get charged. There used to be the two types but now i think there is just one type.

@o44wen
Have you got a p900 and have you manged to downgrade online through account management?
I was told by the operator that i would face a surcharge on the p900 in my next bill to cover the cost of the handset if i changed before 3 months using the online accounts thingy!!
Can you throw some light on this please?
Cheers

Oh for crying out loud, a P9000? I go to bed early one night and I miss everything, SE must have released eight generations of smartphones whilst I was sleeping. I always miss all the fun!

I've downgraded twice within 3 hours of buying the contract.
(two seperate contracts)
So the people who say it can't be done, obviously are doing, or trying it the wrong way. |

Yes i'm speaking about the p900.
I called and made the mistake of telling the operator that i just bought the phone. He refused me.
So i called again and just requested that i want my tariff lowered. And so it was done.
Don't be bitter.... buddy. |

I gotta say there are some tight ass people on this forum
@£45 x 3 months then downgrade @£15 x 9 months = £270 for a P900
Maybe you should ask for a pint of blood from o2 as well while you at it

I think you'll find that if you get the downgrade b4 the 3 months you also will get a penalty once it all goes thru the system 100% , so good luck to you guyz.
A pound of flesh is just pushing it now m8
