I am a big time SONY fan but yes, their cameras SW sucks. High time SONY rectifies it. Regarding the over heating issues...this is bad. Z3+ might touch 50c temp! too bad these OEM's were forced to go along with the SD810. They should have simply come up with their own chip or just left the part to SAMSUNG and skipped the current update.

I think, if there's already too much bad press (like a major Japanese carrier issuing warnings)... they should just do a recall. The maybe strike a deal with Qualcomm to replace the chip or maybe Samsung to replace it with their exynos... then sell the phone again.
Consumer confidence is very hard to gain back once its lost.

they may as well call it a Z3+ too and stick a s808 like G4 and keep other upgrades and sell it for 100 USD equivalent MSRP less than other flagship. |

Finally received my z3+ dual. Heated, but not too bad. About the same as z3.

So Sony have admitted to the heat issues, it will probably get the same sort of update the HTC One M9 got and do very heavy throttling...
Sony confirms Xperia Z3+ overheats, promises software fix

EDIT:
Every phone with a Snapdragon 810 needs to be recalled at this point, this is now getting out of hand. In the same way that both the Nokia N97 and SE Satio had to be pulled out the market for a while to sort out issues, the HTC One M9, Z3+, and all the other 810 based models require fixing, the real life performance, benchmarks and carrier are all pointing to a common cause of the issue, it needs to be fixed before someone gets hurt. The fact that they suggest charging the phones while off is a major concern.

Nice. Report the battery life.
Especially when it's dual.

Wonder if the overheating is why some markets opted not to sell the device. Anyone know the specific areas or countries which are NOT selling the Z3+?
I agree with Tsepz_GP, the 810 needs to be recalled, even if qualcomm is shipping version 2 or whatever. The SoC is a bust. |

Been using the z3+ for over 24 hours and here are a few initial thoughts:
Camera is excellent. Lots of details captured under board daylight, it does feel slight improvement from the z3.
Battery is not up to the standard. I managed to drain the battery in under 5 hours of heavy usage (ie lots of photos/videos), but this is very normal for new phones. Will give another report in a few days time.
Ont thing thouugh, the camera gives the temperature warning at around 50'C. This temperature is very normal during photo and FHD shooting during daytime, but I have not encountered any shutdowns during photo or video shooting. The highest temperature the device read was around 60'C, which is the same for Z3. However, during video shooting, the phone became laggy. Luckly, the output file was fine.
I am not going to talk about the audio quality, as I am used to playing music on my zx1 + pha-3 combo, and I am very biased towards that..

Looking good!
Can you post some photos of nature(trees and foliage) and people's?
It look like the major problem (white balance) fixed.

First, thanks for sharing... Unfortunately Sony Mobile has not learned from the mistakes of the past and continues to integrate mediocre digital cameras to its line of tops !
It is unacceptable to see a digital camera regarded by Sony Mobile, as the best available Android camera, offer a picture quality so bad !!
Even in daylight and low ISO sensitivity, noise is observed throughout the image, not to mention the softness in existing corners across the Z-line !!!
Honestly, for me it is inexplicable see LG (G4) and SAMSUNG (S6 Edge, S6, Note 4, Note Edge) offer high quality cameras in their devices and the SONY offer this crap, even the three manufacturers have in common the same type and image sensor maker |

Just saw a tweet from Sony Mobile's Xperia ZA account (South Africa account) saying it will not be available locally. Makes me believe Sony are indeed bringing something far better at IFA
With the low release volume, I doubt support for the Z3+ will be of high priority for Sony, especially after IFA.
