As mentioned a few pages back the Galaxy Alpha isn't going to be cheap, O2UK have officially announced their prices
Unlimited calls & text and only 1GB of data @ £38 p/m, ouch that's expensive.

Agreed that this phone is way too overpriced. Maybe Samsung wants to make people think that S5 is a bargain?😄 |

So for the first time we get to see the official spec of both the Galaxy Alpha and the Z3C side by side. It's amazing how similar they are in certain aspects so an actual head to head will be something to lookout for.

Preordered one of these after a rather pleasant session at IFA, where I had the opportunity to play with one for about an hour backstage. Definitely charming and the first Samsung I don't consider utter crap in a while regarding look&feel. 
Regarding the Z3c, it's similar but entirely different for some reasons, the Alpha is not water-proof and has a slightly bigger footprint, but the Z3c lacks metal and is thicker.

Congrats xell, I can see why you decided to get this one. Tried one myself today and I was really impressed by its quality. Exellent ergonomics and build. The aluminum frame is beautiful and gives the phone that premium feel. The screen is the best 720p I have seen and the camera truly delivers. I tested it against the Z3 and the image quality from the Alpha were noticeable better

I like it's looks too but it's ridiculously expensive for what it is. It's the right direction for Samsung, the Note 4 is rather hideous but the leaked pictures of the Samsung A5 gives me hope that things are changing. I don't look too much into materials so I'm happy with plastics but the Galaxy S is guilty of having the cheapest look ever considering the price that you pay for it. Alpha looks good |

Yeah got mine at 289 € for an extension of my contract (300 € off). Thought that was fair.

Then again, I suppose Gorilla Glass 4's inclusion in the Samsung Galaxy Alpha should not be a complete shock.
