Should we replace the rating system with a Like voting system? And maybe a dislike vote as well? If so, do you have an opinion of how existing votes should be converted? |

All votes 7+ == 1 like ??
Current rating system score can still be displayed on the photo info page but in the gallery just show number of likes and maybe a like button.
With a 'like' voting system it is important to not have a dislike (negative like) function only an unlike (remove like) or we'd end up in the same situation as currently with negative voting.

On mobilmania.cz there is solution that new members can vote after uploading 3 photos, and it is alowed to upload 1 photo per day. Here could be more strict, like 6 photos, so it will be more job for occounts created only for voting. Also, it is public who had voted, but votes itself can be hiden. I'm new there and don't understand chez, so don't know did they have issue with votes or is this working, but it looks like worth of try. |

Great idea! Let allow to rate only for those who have uploaded 6 or even at least 10 pics. To make our secret hater/lover more annoying life. We could easier verify who it might be when some new member will start to upload many pics during the ones marks campaign.

Dislike option would be just another tool for haters or those who would like to diss someone’s shots as it was with one marks. So I’m not sure of using it.
On the other hand only likes/favs would work in our hater favour. I just realized that he could be suddenly transformed into a lover  of his favourite pics and users.
Last but not least I got no concept how we could transform our marks on favs/dislikes. Maybe marks higher than 7 should be considered as like from 4 to 6 neutral. And all votes below 4 as dislikes but I’m not sure about it.
In my opinion emporium’s idea sounds the best 4 now. So we could still have old rating system but if someone wants to be a part of it he need to upload some shots. After investigating and banning his account he would be forced of searching new pics to upload and spent more time in his messing plan. Even if old users will rate from time to time a one note because of their own reasons it should be absolutely marginal cos’ most of us are lovers of mobile photography no matter what brand of the phone others got.
What you think about it?

Maybe in voting system if someone votes they have to leave a comment or their name comes up under the vote
