X1 will have the same chipset as the Diamond, look at the pic on Bengalboy's preview: http://www.pbase.com/bengalboy/image/96488044.jpg (and he has got a newer X1 with the accent characters key) (taken from here: http://www.bengalboy.com/modu[....]=8&post_id=6603#forumpost6603)
So there will be no difference in this (maybe the screen drivers will be the same too and maybe TouchFlow 3D will be made available for official or non-official/cooked ROMs for the X1. The only set back can be the lesser 128MB memory on the X1 playing nice with TouchFlow)

only 900 mah battery? for such a device, with so many features, so big screen, not to mention the built in gps etc thats crap. even trinity has 1500 mah batt, but at least 1200 mah would be the minimum.

The battery is kind of sucky, but Seido will create OEM-sized extended batteries within a few months probably (just like they're done for all HTC phones), most likely in the 1200-1300mAh range.

Apparantly HTC are a lot more accurate in terms of battery life quotes than others. Most others that say 1200 or 1500 are never really that much. I know my P1 sure as hell isnt what SE says it is.

i dont see how its a wanna-be-iphone. if it were, HTC could have just used the same design and specs then its a wanna be.
i see no similarities besides full touch screen

Hi all,
For those of you interested in this device their are some really good pictures of it over at CNET the link is here
http://crave.cnet.co.uk/mobiles/0,39029453,49296808,00.htm
It shows a lot of what the apps look like including what the new Opera 9.5 browser it uses is like to.
I must say the more i have read and seen of this device the more impressed i have been. What i find most interesting is just how fast it will be launched from announcement which is a lesson other manufacturers could certainly learn form. Also the fact that it will be available from all the UK Networks in June is impressive to.

@Marc
That link redirects me to my yahoo mail account. Is that by chance a link to an email for yours?
Regarding the fast launch date, I think its more of a case of late announcement rather than an early launch. Design of the device began in November 2006. Thats about 1 and a half years ago, which is the usualy lead time for development of a new phone.

Diamond is definitely amazing. If Paris doesn't pan out, this is my next device. Though I'll need one of those Seido batteries. |

Its a pity about the 4GB cap on memory, what a waste of a product imo I wonder if there will be a later version with a memeory card slot? The battery is'nt too big an issue in my opinion though, you will find after market batteries, and if not if it lasts a day it should be sufficent, I have'nt used a phone till date thats lasted me past 10pm.
Lets see if they release the keyboard version with a mem card slot or not. I would be a wee bit difficult to use only a touch screen after getting used to the Qwerty keyboard on the TyTn II
