Well, that isn't the point. If lewis didn't cut the corner,he would never have been so close to kimi at the la source.
Stewards gave 25sec penalty which is an equivalent of drive through (since the race was done before the stewards reached a decision).
If anyone remember japan 2005...

Here is a perfect answer from a racing driver :-
Jarno Trulli answers the question.

Quotes from different drivers:-
"There are rules about cutting chicanes and gaining an advantage. I don't have anything (else) to say," World Champion Raikkonen said.
Massa, meanwhile, said Hamilton was "a bit too optimistic" in passing Raikkonen so soon after cutting the Bus Stop chicane.
"It has been made absolutely clear that anyone cutting a chicane has to fully restore the position and also any other eventual advantage gained," Massa said.
"If Lewis had taken the chicane correctly, he would never have been able to pass Kimi on the very short straight that follows it."
Hamilton's former McLaren teammate Fernando Alonso, meanwhile, said the F1 world should accept the stewards' decision.
"In the end, what they say is always fair, whether you like it or not," the Spaniard told Cadena SER radio.
Guys what do you say now? Add Jarno Trulli to this.

Well...
I guess it's a fair decision. If you risk to bend the rules, then you should take the consequences.
If he was a wise guy, he should not have done that "smart" move and let Kimi keep the place 'till the next turn.
Eventually he would win the race too.
Hamilton thought he could get away with that, slowing down just enough to let Raikkonen pass, but then putting his nose stuck to Ferrari's back.
This way he used the Ferrari's slipstream to pass Raikkonen the next turn.
Even if Hamilton would get to the chicane stuck in Raikkonen's @rse, he could never keep that close distance after that turn.

Today's practice session was a wet session , qualifying is also going to bet wet.
Predictions for the race is 80-90% chance for rain.
BTW I like the names of the corners at SPA.
La Source and O Rouge ( don't know the correct spelling)

Massa I don't know why he is at 6th , maybe more fuel?
KIMI and Hamilton had problem because when they were setting their times the conditions worsened. So its bad luck.

Hamilton is an excellent wet weather racer.
He can even go for a win.
I am wary of Hamilton.
