Ok, so I got my sister, who speaks fluent German, to give T-Mobile customer services a call in Germany. And they said that they would be more than happy to unlock my iPhone as long as it was a German purchased T-mobile locked version. And that they could not unlock an O2 locked iPhone because a) they would not legally be allowed to, and b) they don't have the ability to unlock it from any other network other than T-mobile.
Now who's stupid?! |

1. Well it looks we are at a stalemate because they have no problem unlocking an iPhone. 2. I have no knowledge of your sister's language skills, I can only speak for mine and mine is quite fluent (a product of living in Germany for 12 years). 3. I told them my iPhone is a US version and the only question they had was if it was internally the same as the European versions and Apple confirmed that it was. 4. Considering they will be selling two versions of the iPhone, locked and unlocked, you point be makes no sense. 5. Who's stupid now? Continue to post and this question will answer itself.

How am I stupid? I am basically telling you what T-Mobile told my sister, who also lives in Germany, teaches English to German school children and whose husband is German, nothing wrong with her language skills!
I am currently in Germany visiting my sister and so shall be going down a T-Mobile store to ask them there too. I have my O2 locked iPhone with me and shall see what they say there. I think it will be the same answer I got on the phone. But what do I know, I'm just stupid aren't I?! |

i really think this is not the place to throw insults at each other, this is a phone forum. No need for calling anyone stupid. We are all adults here. So lets please get back onto the topic that was originally created. |

Yeah sorry, I just don't appreciate being called stupid for no reason. |

Stupidity is not the issue here. So we can move on. The issue is if T-Mobile will unlock an iPhone. They told me yes twice and told a colleague the same thing. What we have, which is not uncommon, are two sets of info from the same source, T-Mobile. For the sake of everyone here, let's hope that you are wrong and for the sake of argument, I did not call you stupid.
Addendum:
I mentioned to T-Mobile that I have a US version phone. I also mentioned that I work for the State Department and that I travel to and fro and that I would be traveling to Germany for a temp assignment and that I would like to unlock the phone and use a T-Mobile sim while there but would like the phone completely unlocked so when I leave I can use any card. They agreed to do this. This might have had some bearing on their answer.

Hi My friend lent me his iphone to try and hack. I am not getting much joy. I downgarded ok and followed the hackint0sh instructions. When I try and install appsnap it just won't install. After 10 attempts number 11 worked but then oktoprep won't work it crashes on install.
Any tips? |

The problem is a new bootloader on all iPhones sold after 9 Nov. If he purchased it after that, he is screwed. Go to: www.hacktheiphone.com for more info.

Most likely will not happen. Infineon has changed the hash and encryption of the chips used and they cyphers are quite large. Very little chance that they can be cracked. This is super computer type hacking.

This is totally useless if you have bootloader 4.06. If you have 4.06 DO NOT FOLLOW THESE DIRECTIONS. The cyphers for 4.06 has not been hacked and there is a very good chance they will not be. Another way has to be found.
