i think that the aspect ratio should be 4:3. for example 320x240 or 640x480
because if this phone is to be a (maybe) slider then the whole phone will be so long when the slide is open and holding it while typing can be harder |

VGA resolutions are all very good, but a lot of people can't handle the high density (usually resulting in small text that people don't like). You would basically need to increase the size of the device, which doesn't seem very popular now.
A good compromise is the long screens used on many Japanese handsets (like the SE W52s Walkman phone). I'd LOVE to see SE bring some of these screens and designs over here.
DoCoMo seem to stick with fairly 'normal' Japanese looking handsets, but KDDI are doing stuff that's far more European friendly (they even sell Nokia handsets with virtually no changes at all) and SE could bring stuff over without having to do much to them at all.
