all of us should be hapüpy with the fone what we buy. we are all more or less on some way "experts", so we know what we buy. theses are fone cams, dont wait for brill quality, for that take a digi cam. all i wanna say is, that the se vs nokia "war" will be constant always, thats good on some way, cos the brands will maybe recognize what are users after, i mean featurewise mainly, but NOT the cam should be the most important when we take a fone, cos i doubt, that anybody would buy a fone just cos of the cam, when now a days really good digi cams are so cheap...

That association is incorrect.
In the second quote you used, I was just stating the fact that I couldn't believe K850's screen had better quality than N95's in the pic I saw, while in the first I was responding to users, who were exaggerating with the adjectives they used to describe phone screens, in a sarcastic manner.
And no, it's not funny, it's failing to understand english.
What's so exagerrating about N95 screen which is about 40% bigger in area than K850?? I tell you what is really exagerrating is the one who praise the K850 screen saying it is twice as bright as N95 when it is not actually so.

(That's sarcasm for you )
Well, excuse me, almighty N95i? N95's glorious screen? I mean, how lame is that!?
And I was not exaggerating. I was describing exactly what I saw. |

n95 screen was a disappointment for me, it would have dserved e60, e70 or at least n80 display... so i have to admit, k850 is better ( more clear )

You know what - actually I feel sorry for the SE 'fans'. They have a predicament now. Should they raise the alarm/complain and hope SE will do something about the picture quality (especially the flash) or should they 'save face' and praise SE for the beautiful camera flagship device they have created ? udging by the posts, the later seems to be the case - suits me thou -
Wow, not only are you being dogmatic about this make-belief predicament, but now you're implying it's wrong and sad to be an SE 'fan'. What the hell is wrong with you? This is a serious question dude, there's no objectivity to your statements so what is it that you're trying to achieve? Convert everyone into Nokia users like yourself? There's a distinct difference between objective viewpoints that's offered by antagonising individuals such as Dogmann and your pointless (but not necessarily baseless) neverending contempt. That's why no one takes you and your Nokia crusade seriously here, but now you're proving to be more and more of an irritating prick with some sort of sick mission. Please get a life.
On another note, I think which phone performs better is irrelevant here. The mere fact that a dedicated Cybershot phone is even comparable to an almost year-old jack of all trades and master of none N95 is inexcusable & a complete disgrace

No, there's a reason why they dont go for those screens anymore. Firstly because of the battery consumption, secondly because the screen res. is so "not normal" many applications including themes looked awful.

Well, for what it's worth, thanks for the solution. Maybe I should take a mental note and do just that

No offence to Plankgatan - but I can't see why everyone raves about the quality of his photo's. Sure they may be nice shots and all but they have been shrunk down so much that any noise in the photo's is hidden. This is not mastery - it is deception and I'm not buying it. I can shrink down pictures from any crappy low end 1mp camera and they too will look great. There's just no point to 5mp if you're going to shrink photo's down to below VGA size. I should be able to view a 5mp image at full res. At the very least I should be able to view a 5mp image on a full screen without any obvious imperfections. In my case my full screen is 1280x1020 - Which, if I’m not mistaken will be like shrinking the photo down to 1.3mp. So those who like to shrink photo's shouldn't have an issue we people who like to view images full screen.
The photo comparison on http://smape.com/en/reviews/n[....]Ericsson_K850ivsNokia_N95.html clearly show's (to me) that the imaging quality of the K850 is a big disappointment. If you like you can download and shrink the photos from the smape review and they'll actually look O.K. - try it yourself. But, if you shrink the same N95 shots the N95 shots actually look better than the shrunk k850 photos. When it comes to imaging the N95 is clearly better - I've tested an N95 against my K800 and the N95 produced much better and clearer shots. K850 is not yet out in Australia so I can't test one. Now I'm an SE owner and prefer SE phones but at least I can be objective and admit when another product produces a better result. Unlike some here who just seem to take some childish resentment to anyone who would bag out an SE phone - especially if they own it.
Lastly, I challenge Plankgatan to post full res and un-altered versions of the shrunken shots he has previously posted. I do not understand or accept his reluctance to so. If his photo's are that great I want to see them at full res and unaltered so that I/we can make my/our own judgement and actually get some real proof that the K850 does take good shots. Hopefully I may even be able to look at them in awe. Despite previous claims it's not hard to post full size 5mp images to esato. You can post up to 4 full res pictures per day right here: http://www.esato.com/phonephotos.

A very well put post! Completely agree with you.
Now let's see if Plankgatan takes up your open challenge, which he's been ducking for a while now! |

why must everything turn into arguements? I think every one knows by now k850 photos arent too crash hot. Lets see if firmware updates can improve them, although they should have been a little better at release imo. We dont need people to keep saying k850 photos are crap, once is enough!

No argument intended here. This is just a debate over which 5mp camera phone provides better pics - Both of them are rather mediocre anyway. The point here is someone is claiming exceptional performance but not providing any real tangible evidence. I want to see some evidence. So, lets keep it as a friendly and healthy debate and keep emotions out of it. When the full resolution pics are provided be honest and objective. |
