@themarques

Appreciate the suggestion but i really am not a fan of adding bit's of kit and wouldn't an amp just increase the volume level? This is not the real problem i have with the E90 a slighter lower volume i could of lived with just about. It is the difference in the reproduction of the sound as in the whole sound stage definition, separation and richness and detail not just the volume issue for me.

@Dogmann,

Hey dude, have you tried using a 2.5mm to 3.5mm converter then using your headphones with this? I use my Shure e5c's with my E90 and the sound is pretty good. Give it a try. You might be pleasantly surprised.

@sapporobaby

That was exactly the set up i was using and whilst i really do appreciate every ones input in trying to resolve this issue for me. I really do think i will be sticking to my decision, i can always change my mind later and get another should i get reports that Nokia have changed the Music player and not just improved the volume. But definitely for now i am sticking to my current conclusions and devices.

I also agree that the sound is pretty good easily as good as any other E series device, but this is the problem i have been spoilt by the N95's quality and that really is the problem if i hadn't had the N95 i doubt i would of even noticed to be honest. It was only due to some other comments i had read that at the time i actually disagreed with that made me decide to take the N95 out of it's box and charge it up to see if there was a difference. Once i started listening it was apparent to me immediately and there was just no going back, possibly i am my own worst enemy as really am a bit of a control freak and always want the best i can get. I find it very hard to settle for less and is both a blessing and a curse.

Marc and amp is not for volume only , its actually reproduces deeper sounds and is more intense il find some reviews for you to read up...there are some as slip as anything. But I do understand you worry about carrying to much.

Marc, how about connectiong an amp like the ones available for ipods etc, to the E90 and with your shure headphones you will be rocking. I know this is a little big but there are smaller, check it out.

@batesie,

I hear you about the size but I was quite surpised that I can walk around with mine in my pocket all day. It is not as large as I thought and I went from an N95 to the E90. It is rather handy as it feels very solid.

Hi all,

This was actually posted in the E61i v E90 but felt should be said here as well.

Well I actually have to report something quite strange as i only have an E61 when walking Otis this morning i was expecting to be disappointed by the Music experience due to the E series player and quite simply i wasn't. Now there is no way the E61 can have a better player than the E90 so as the E61 uses a Nokia AD-46 adapter and still sounds so good the only conclusion i can reach is the problem i had with the E90 was down to the 2.5m to 3.5m adapter. As i have now sold all my devices bar the E61 i am not going to change my mind as i do believe things tend to happen for reason. Oh well at least i have a load of cash and no need to even buy a dedicated player now.

Marc

Hey buddy,

Actually I really do not mind it and I am not saying this because I like the phone. It sits in my pocket and I can get it out when needed (the phone that is).

Hi all,

I actually have to agree with Sapporobaby as in the few days i had it my case hadn't arrived yet and it just went in my empty front jeans pocket. In fact at one point i actually forget it was there.

I can't stress enough it really is not as big heavy or awkward as some here seem to think. In fact due to it's shape i felt it was actually less intrusive then my N93 when i had that. But like everything what is OK for some of us just isn't for others.

Seeing as my E-Bay auction is well under with one bid 10 watchers and a couple of people that have called that want to collect and pay in cash if they win i think i can assume mine will be gone by tonight. Yes i will be sad to let it go but i think it's for the best for me.
