I'm having exactly the same problem on my new w960.

no matter what I do, I can't connect to my router.

the only way it works is to disable the security completely.

i'm assuming both phones are v similar.

any update on this issue?
it's vodafone branded, i was thinking if i debranded, it might solve the problem???

I found I can connect with WEP but it often used to take several attempts - it would connect, but not get an IP from the router.
I got around this by setting up the P1 to use a static IP when connecting to my router and it works every time.

I'm back from vacation. In where I have stayed, there were two WEP points and the same happened to me. Then, when I was crossing the sea on a boat with wireless Internet (without encryption), same thing happened. The IP address I get is the famous 169.x.x.x.

I couldn't try static IP assignment as I don't know the IP range.

There must be something stupid with the DHCP client and I love my P1i but I'm really really REALLY sick of this network problem.

I have always had problems with wlan too on my P1i since I got it several months and 2 firmware upgrades ago. There are lots of really helpful people on this forum that try to help and I think that is great. But the point is that people shouldnt need technical help with such a basic smartphone function. Every PC, laptop, Nokia or windows mobile device I have tried worked faultlessly on wlan first time. I thought it might just be my P1i handset but the amount of people on this thread and plenty other threads suggest otherwise.
